The 33-year-old, still hot on the promo trail in support of her 7th studio album, ‘Beauty Marks,’ left her mark on the stage in grand fashion – rocking the audience with cuts from the opus (‘Level Up,’ ‘Thinking ‘Bout You’) and even strolled them down memory lane with hits from earlier in her career.

Im happy shes still booking gigs after selling 8k copies. She flops gracefully and she keeps it moving unlike miss petty minaj who just started a megatron challenge to unflop her single megatron which is predicted to drop 50 places on the chart this coming week.

One thing that should be commended about Ciara is that no matter how hard she flops she is never dropped and continues to be booked at events and award shows. I cannot think of any artist in history that has managed to have albums consistently sell less than 200,000 for like 10 years straight and continues getting deals. Many artists have been dropped from labels for selling less than 500,000 and Ciara hasn’t seen sales like that since 2007. She keeps her name out there and continues to make money moves while never having a hit album.
@Caleb the record industry is about money. Artists like Ciara make record labels lose money. She has been dropped numerous times by different labels (Epic, Warner Bros, etc). Just because an artist is dropped quietly does not mean they were not dropped. The only label that stood by her for a long time was Jive but they enjoyed the monetary success of her first two albums’ profits. The problem with Ciara is that she is an older artist now and she does the kind of music she likes but is not interested in doing the music her target audience likes. That translates into flop after flop. She should study Bey. Bey listens to what her audience likes and makes music that will sell / cater to them.

A few years ago around the time Body Party was released a friend and I were planning to see Ciara live at the House of Blues in Chicago. He wondered how it was possible for Ciara to flop so many times yet still get re-signed and big name producers working on her projects. I suggested that she is likely well regarded in the music industry b/c you never hear anyone speak negatively about Cici. In addition to her goodwill she’s also transitioned into being known more for her personal relationships w/ famous men or friends.
So basically she is more of a Hollywood socialite masquerading as a singer/dancer nowadays.

I watched both videos and liked her energy BUT I don’t like her ‘live’ voice. It is annoying. The costumes are always wack this era. Overall she needs to study Beyonce. Bey knows her audience and connects with that audience. In my opinion Ciara does Ciara but that does not work because she is disconnected with her target audience. She has to give the audience what they want to see.
When I watch Ciara there’s no denying she’s an amazing performer but I also see someone imitating Janet Jackson.

1 2 step is one of my favourite songs front Ci , but she’s made it so stiff and boring now . And them pointless vocals that don’t even sound live . She over does the production on her stage tracks ,adding 350,000 sound effects like a damn amusement park and it’s not necessary . I just wish she’d strip it back a bit and stay authentic to the track , a dance break is fine , but all the swooshes and pows are tired .

Ciara’s hustle should be respected, however her fan base is no longer interested in what she is trying to sell. It is definitely time to reinvent herself to get people engaged and interested again.
I have a undeniable soft spot for Cici. Her music has always been FUN and joyful to me. I also like her character/ persona. Very sweet girl. Maybe not very high chart status or sales but respectable.
She is an amazing dancer, one of the best and no one will ever be able to take that from her.
