New Song: Lil Nas X – ‘Old Town Road (Remix)’ [featuring Young Thug, Billy Ray Cyrus, & Mason Ramsey]

Published: Thursday 11th Jul 2019 by Rashad

Lil Nas X made history this week when it was announced his song became the first song in over 20 years to go Diamond while still holding the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 (click here to read more).

Now, as it celebrates its 14th week atop the tally, X is looking to extend that reign even further by lifting a new official remix to the megahit.  While the song’s original mix already featured Country legend Billy Ray Cyrus, its remix calls on help from rapper Young Thug and viral Country sensation Mason Ramsey.

Curious to hear what they added to the cut? It awaits inside:

He is definitely breaking Mariah’s record. Nobody can unseat him now.

Billie eilish thought she was slick putting justin bieber on the remix of bad guy thinking it will knock lil nas x off the number 1 spot, girl u played urself, our gay king isnt going anywhere.

What a time to be alive. A black out and proud gay man is number 1 on the charts, blocking pasty white people like Taylor swift, shawn mendez, post malone ed Sheeran etc from debuting at number 1.

You cannot possibly think streaming verses real sales are the same thing. Mariah Carey’s number 1s came from pure sales where CD singles alone sold for $5 and $6 dollars each. Fast forward to present day where music is FREE when u stream there is no comparison. Today’s charts just capture the ‘popularity’ of the artist and not the sales of music people are willing to BUY with their money.

I remember those days. I always went to Best Buy where they had a singles and EP shelf with cassettes and CDs. I bought plenty of singles back then, some of them from Mariah and I still have em.

How old are you? This isn’t a shade, just curious. I am 32 and I remember singles costing 2-$3. And albums were like 12-$15 if I’m correct.

Those were the days. I had soooooo many Cd’s. I loved buying singles too. They would have like 5 versions of the same song with remixes and extended version. There was something exciting about getting singles in addition to the albums.

I’m 29 and they were $5 to $6 dollars from what I remember but I was more of a Napster and Limewire girl who downloaded music for free growing up. I bought albums though and have a very large album collection but singles I never found interest in buying.

Then you’re part of today’s problem lol, Napster & Limewire were the beginning of the end for physical sales & the start of this mess called streaming.

I love Mariah but isn’t it true that They discounted her single back then to .99 to help achieve the record?

I live for this comment. I am SO PROUD to be BLACK, LOVE OTHER MEN and the world will STAY MAD!!!! We innovate EVERYTHING! Fashion! Music! Pop Culture! It is about TIME we were the face of it!

    • Yeh sure July 12, 2019

Unfortunately for you, theres a pasty white person on the song called billy ray cyrus.

    • BarackObama July 12, 2019

Shame we’ve still got racist bigots such as yourself still hanging around 🙂

      • Yeh sure July 12, 2019

Not really, I wasnt the one to describe white people as pastry white people. Nothing wrong with being pasty, many people want lighter skin.
I’m just replying to clacksons comment. Just reminding him there’s a pasty white person on the song.. so before he hates…

    • oh no July 13, 2019

The song is horrible and laughable. He gotta get young thug and jason ramsey for his 50th remix of this travesty!

Right?! He will definitely break Mariah’s record. Wow. A black gay man is blocking all the pop acts on the Hot 100. Welcome to 2019 y’all! I hope he is not a one hit wonder.

    • Jasmine July 12, 2019

Gay black men and women are behind many of the hits on the Hot 100 for decades. This one just happens to be a performing artist.

  3. Meme July 12, 2019

I was gonna say boy let it go…but you know what, NO! Let it run….milk this so it can stay on the charts the rest of the year. Because let’s face it, he wouldn’t have another hit or a singing career.

    • Urg July 12, 2019

      Agreed???

    • SMH July 12, 2019

      Truth.

  4. boomkack123 July 12, 2019

Even if he ties or beats Mariah’s record, she’ll still be the ONLY WOMAN EVER to do it. Good for Lil Nas X though

    • SMH July 12, 2019

Except she had help from FOUR BLACK MEN on the song.

      • BOOMKACK123 July 13, 2019

Point still stands… Out of them all she’s still the first and only WOMAN making it even cooler and still historic. And it wouldn’t have happened without her… Lil Nas X has a WHITE MAN on his song and Billy Ray collaborated with a BLACK MAN. What’s your point? Get some rest.

  5. Truth July 12, 2019

    Ok Mason…. I see you…

  6. I love big black c** July 12, 2019
