Stream: Iggy Azalea’s New Album ‘In My Defense’

Published: Thursday 18th Jul 2019 by Rashad

5 years have separated fans of Iggy Azalea from the rapper’s debut LP, ‘The New Classic.’

Originally scheduled for a 2016 launch, the Grammy nominee’s sophomore effort – then-christened ‘Digital Distortion’ – was serially delayed after public response to the title’s first couple of singles paled in comparison to those from its 2014 predecessor’s.  Once label drama entered into play, Azalea parted ways with Def Jam and offered fans 2018’s ‘Survive the Summer’ EP as a means to tide them over until her official sophomore album was done baking.

Enter 2019, the saucy Aussie hopped back on the scene with the ferocious bangers ‘Sally Walker,’ ‘Started,’ ‘I Just Wanna,’ and more fresh out the oven – all found on her newly christened second opus, ‘In My Defense.’  With critical acclaim aplenty surrounding all of the singles from the set today, will the album – now available in full – prove itself worth the wait?

Cool that’s what’s up. What are the bops? I am going to stream it.

White girl with minimal talent still delivering bops. Nicki take notes from Iggy.
Sally Walker was suppose to be the song of the summer. justice for Sally Walker.

      Couldn’t agree more with you.

I agree on the minimal talent part but I disagree with the Nicki advice. Minaj turns 37 this year. NO female rapper (outside of reggae) has been able to maintain a top stop post 36! Perhaps Minaj has aged out and so has her fans. Her straight fans are likely married now and having kids and her gay fans are likely spending time in relationships rather than dancing to her music in the clubs. Iggy is 29 now and white. More than likely in the next couple years u will see her either convert into an ‘actress’ or reality show cast member!

Okay so I think the album bops BUT also you can tell she really worked with some of Cardi producers cause some songs feel like type beats for IOP

    Spend it.(feels like “she bad”)
Hometia (sounds like money in a higher key)
Freak of the week ( brickenhead vibes) some of the rhythms are getting a bit to Recycled for my taste

I think the singles are dope and she did a awesome Job for a indie artist ??
