Whoopi Goldberg has been criticised online for a joke she made about Mariah Carey‘s physique during an episode of her hit show ‘The View.’
The show’s cast was joined by the actor Jerry O’Connell and quizzed him on the role he played in Carey’s ‘Heartbreaker’ visual. It was then, as Sunny Hostin pointed out that the video was released 20 years ago, that Goldberg suggested that it was released “20 bodies ago.”

Mariah has not taken great care of her physique over the years. She gets really sloppy & then goes under the knife as opposed to exercising.
Mariah is overweight & sometimes, when an era or major appearance is coming up, she manages to tighten up.

Only one thing stuck with me from this: Mariah was SO beautiful around that time. Extremely beautiful. From 1997 to 1999 maybe it was her best beauty wise. I had a friend many years ago that saw her at an event for the fans in 1999 in Madrid and he told me she was a “bellezón”.

I loved Whoopi growing up watching her movies and I loved Mariah so much I used to cut her pictures out of magazines and tape them to my binder in middle school. Being a fan of both women, this is very disappointing. I don’t understand Whoopi’s feelings toward Mariah. People have had some cruel words about Mariah’s voice and her body and it’s all in an attempt to discredit her worth and her value among so many other people including myself. Mariah is beautiful inside and out and it was her music and Janet’s that got me through some very dark times. I have nothing but respect for Mariah and I am sickened by Whoopi’s words. Scorpio women are quite obnoxious and full of themselves and I do not like mosst of the famous ones(Emma Stone, Pink, Julia Roberts) although there are some exceptions(Kelly Osbourne, Sean Young and Whoopi before the Mariah insult).
