In a recent interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music’s Beats 1, Miami said:
“JT coming home this month,” she said. “When she come home we’re working on another album that we’re gonna drop hopefully for spring break. She gotta come home. We gotta record.”
Back in June, Pierre “Pee” Thomas – CEO and founder of the Girls’ label – announced Johnson would be “home within 90 days,” a timeline reiterated by Miami in the interview above (despite reports the federal government’s inmate locator lists JT’s release date as March 21, 2020).
If the September date proves true, the timing of Johnson’s prison release not only builds excitement for the new City Girls album (which Caresha says is due in Spring 2020), but also gives JT time to promote their current ventures by her lonesome while Miami is out on maternity leave. As revealed in the interview above, her bundle of joy is due October 17.
