After ample teasing, Grammy-winning R&B diva Fantasia has unleashed her long-awaited new album, ‘Sketchbook.’
Her first studio effort since 2016’s ‘The Definition Of…,’ the project serves as a turning point on several fronts in the singer’s narrative. Released independently, ‘Sketchbook’ comes as her first album without the backing of a major label – a feat some point to as the reason for the commercial nonperformance of the set’s trio of lead singles ‘Enough,’ ‘PTSD (featuring T-Pain),’ and ‘Holy Ghost.’
And, while the tunes and their album co-tenants have racked up critical acclaim aplenty, will it be enough to help the LP pencil itself on the Billboard 200’s upper rankings (like that of its predecessors)?

I was loving it until tracks 7-12. 2nd half of the album sounds like it was produced by a totally different group of people who messed it all up.
u have to understand this Fantasia shes music so every song is not gonna sound the same

I love me some big mouth Tasia but she know she wrong for this!! She gave us a 2 in 1. Half R&B and half gospel. Anything past track 6 could’ve been a whole different album.
Why didn’t she release 2 EP’s instead of an obvious flop? Girl if you don’t go ahead and give us SIDE EFFECTS OF YOU PART 2, IMA BE PISSED.
Side Effects of You is hands down her best work. No clue how she could go from that to these last two albums…

It’s good!!! Omg I’m so mad at myself for doubting her this era but my bish came thru! Further proves she’s one of the most consistent R&B artists of our generation. So many standout tracks. Go head Fanny! And I forgot her mom was on this. At first I thought it was Tamela Mann! Vocalllllls
Simply amazing! Tasia showcases that no one can keep her in a box. It is amazing to hear that she is truly happy and free in your music now. Will have this album on repeat for a couple of months! Come through Tasia! #thisisapush
Also, that track ‘Warning’ should’ve been released as a first single because this could’ve been her crossover moment in the rock and soul department…..Tina Turner tease. Come on Fantaisia team cease the opportunity! Promote ‘warning’ ASAP! It’s radio friendly and I could see it being catchy to all types of listeners.

In my opinion, This album displays how well Fantasia can sing and articulate any genre of music that she want to!! She always deliver even if she really don’t like it!!! But this one is her independent baby okayyy!!! Fantasia can’t be placed in a box because she will sing the mf’n four walls off of it period!!! She’s well respected from me no questions asked!!! Now go get Sketchbook!!

Every album is does is different, she’s in a better place, I’m glad she made Sketchbook, because she’s showing her musical growth. Everyone’s not going to be on board with her. Like Frankie Beverly said make music that you love. Remember Maze featuring frankie Beverly never won any awards. Fyi

Fantasia!!!! In (MY) opinion this whole album is ????, I love every song.
I wasn’t too sure about the first 2 singles but hearing as part of the album convinced me she got it right. This is a quality album that puts her firmly in her own lane and I’m loving it. Sorry I doubted you Fanny
