Azealia Banks Condemns Frank Ocean For Promoting PREP / Urges Men & Women To Have Safe Sex

Published: Saturday 19th Oct 2019 by David

Azealia Banks believes pills which are said to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS are encouraging men to engage in high-risk sexual behaviour.

Find out how Frank Ocean finds himself caught up in her criticism below…

PrEP stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis and is to be taken before the risk of exposure to HIV and, according to its manufacturers, is to be taken four times a week by those who planning to have unprotected anal sex.

Now, after learning that Frank Ocean is planning to launch a business named after the pill, Banks took to social media to argue that its proponents are being deceptive when they claim that it protects those who use it from harm, and fail to take into account the number of people who now believe it gives them a pass to engage in a high-risk sexual activity…forgetting that it won’t protect them other life-threatening STDs.

Back in April 41 patients who are either living with AIDS or used PrEP filed a personal injury lawsuit against a company named Gilead Sciences Inc because it failed to disclose that the pill was “highly toxic in the doses prescribed and risked permanent and possibly fatal damage to the kidneys and bones.

    For once she’s speaking truth.

  4. biancacook October 19, 2019

i totally agree and im sad about that.

  5. #TheTruth October 19, 2019

For once she is making sense.
Prep can have side effects + it doesn’t protect from STDs. There isn’t just A*** out there.
So I don’t know what’s the fuss about that BS but people are a dumb as f*ck.
    Educate yourself.

  6. Clarkson October 19, 2019

Its white gays that do prep,
Black gays f**** raw, no condoms, no prep, nothing.

    • Lanafan1 October 19, 2019

Lies! Lol there’s literally p*** videos of WHITE men fetishising poz play and smoking meth. You’re a r*****.

    • I love big black c** October 19, 2019

I know. But s** is great without condoms. Black men love to seed my bubble b-u-t-t

    • Lanafan1 October 19, 2019

And as someone who works in the healthcare field in an infectious disease clinic, the number of patients on it are damn near equal in terms of race. And I work in the DC area. Where S** rates are high. So, stick to talking about s*** you know, which isn’t much outside of Camila.

    Damn everybody is suing lizzo.

Cece peniston is claiming lizzo copied her song finally.

    • Lanafan1 October 19, 2019

This post isn’t about Lizzo. STFU

  8. Jay October 19, 2019

Those of us who are actually on Prep knows that she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

    • #TheTruth October 19, 2019

I don’t know what she said in details but whoever isn’t using condoms because they are on prep is a dumb a**hole. Prep won’t protect you from all diseases. It’s a huge step backwards because a lot of people think it’s some miracle treatment when it’s just a bandage over a really deep cut.

      • Jay October 19, 2019

Again, Those of us who are actually on Prep knows that she doesn’t know what she’s talking about

    • B October 19, 2019

That’s because you haven’t been on it for 10+ years, it’s not something that should be used long term. Use a condom, it’s not that hard!

      • #TheTruth October 19, 2019

Exactly, amen, just put on the damn condom. How hard is that ? People are so stupid. Don’t complain if you get STDs or A!DS, just be responsible.
People are ready to mess up their whole life just for a moment of fun.

And I stick by what I said. Prep won’t protect you from STDs not counting possible side effects.
Condom people, condom, that’s all it takes. Simple.

When are the LGBTQ going to get smart in America. This is an administrative that doesn’t like y’all. Why would they care if a big pharma company that spends millions per quarter lobbying do with that specific consumer base? Prep has far too many people out here living dangerously. Prep over long term use has been proven to be detrimental to your health. Far too many influencers(social media personalities) are being paid to promote the stuff. This is going to end up just like that pill that was killing the LGBTQ community during the height of the H** epidemic. They thought it was helping but all it did was rot them from the inside out. Turing their blood into pure toxic sludge. How hard is it to practice safe s** and not sleep with everything willing and able? Promiscuity is still a huge problem in the community not talked about.

She told no lies and I agree with everything she said whole heartedly ?

  11. Q**** October 19, 2019

Someone who is undetectable can’t transmit H** anyway so being with someone who knows their status and takes care of their health is the main priority. It’s the people who don’t know they have H** and are sleeping with people that is the real issue.

  12. Abel October 20, 2019

I get her point, but she’s nobody to condemn someone.

  13. Coco October 20, 2019

I agree and she was speaking this we love and concern as a member of the ?️‍?

  14. Queen ?? Missy October 20, 2019

As always, I have to correct people. PrEP is to be used in conjunction with condoms! Condoms alone are not 100% effective. If you are and most of the people that are “yas girl” with this mental case are barebacking. Get yourself on PrEP because PrEP provides 92%–99% reduction in H** risk for H**-negative individuals who take the pills every day as directed. That is better than nothing at all. So f*** Azealia and you too if you are shaming people for taking precautions.

  15. Brayden October 21, 2019

PreP is easily and readily available and for most very affordable and as close to 100% effective as any medication can be. Additionally Treatment as prevention has made undetectable equal to untrabnsmittable.

I think the rest of the STI and H******** spectrum are a bigger threat to health and good argument for condoms than anything.

If you are with well known partners, you are safer than with random hookups.

The health professionals are really pushing this drug. They have asked me every time I’ve gotten tested in the past few years! I’ve always said no because the drug was too new. But I did do the blood test – they literally have to test your ORGANS to see if they can take the drug! And then they test you after taking it to see if the organs are ok! After that I was a little too freaked out to show up to my PREP appointment. I’m not putting my ORGANS at risk just to go at it raw and it doesn’t protect the common STDS. How about they come up with a drug for all the other STDs as well and I might consider it. I feel bad for those who got ill after taking it, but they literally test your organs beforehand. If that’s not a red flag, IDK what is.
