Chart Check [Hot 100]: Ariana, Miley, & Lana’s ‘Angel’ Falls Out of Top 50 in Week 2

Published: Tuesday 1st Oct 2019 by Rashad

It appears not even the combined star power of Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey, and Miley Cyrus is potent enough to keep their collaborative effort, ‘Don’t Call Me Angel,’ afloat on the Hot 100.

After making a promising #13 debut on the tally last week (as we reported here), many assumed the tune – the lead single from the Grande-curated soundtrack of the 2019 ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot film – was well on its way to soaring into the top 10.

What a difference a week makes.

Despite moderate radio airplay and streaming figures proving to be ‘Angel’s saving grace, the tune’s digital sales have failed to meet hype or expectations since its September 13 unveiling.  The sales decline is mirrored on the Hot 100 this week as the Max Martin-produced bop has plummeted out of the top 40.

I haven’t heard of the song, but based on the still above – the song is rightfully a flop. Those three don’t have enough star power to pull this off. Who asked for this anyway?

    Atleast it’s a top 20 hit.
It’s a trash song. No personality in the song. 3 ladies are good but together, they are weak, they brought each other down on the song.

    Liar- 55

    Motivation- 61.

55 is not a hit song. If Camilla is such a big star why didn’t she go straight to top10 like the other big stars.

I like Lana and Ariana did have some success with her last album but none of them have enough star power to pull of whatever they were trying to do. I Chris creeping up the charts ? might have a number 1 on his hands.

    • Aus December 22, 2019

Where have you been the last few years lol Ariana is the definition of pop girl nowadays lol she has 4 number 1 albums two 1 singles lol she has more than enough star power to make this a top 15 hit and duh it is and Miley hello Hannah duh #1 single and albums as well. I shouldn’t have to remind anyone of these if you would do proper research lol

  13. justin bell-risper October 2, 2019

Should’ve called destinys child that would have been a promised #1 especially given the nostalgia .

  14. Ihatepies October 2, 2019

Right now..Ariana Grande is the biggest popstar but still ever her power couldn’t make the song/movie good..
At least the song isn’t an album song and still peaked at #13,#2 in UK,#2 iTunes chart and #11 on all streaming and 21.5 M VIEWS IN 24 HOURS AND 80M IN 2 WEEKS..
    Not bad tho

    • Aus December 22, 2019

A top 15 hit is a hit regardless all it takes is the debut week and now she has yet another hit to her record and there is nothing you can do about it… stop trying

  15. Detruth October 2, 2019
