JoJo triumphs over worries, woes, and wicked words on ‘Joanna’ – the deeply personal introduction to her new album cycle.
Now signed to Warner Bros Records, the songbird keeps to her tried and true practice of singing her truth on the emotionally charged track.
Speaking on the rationale for serving this song first, she explained:
“wanted 2 get a few things off my chest b4 we fully dive into the newness. talk soon.”
Having debuted the song just hours ago, she’s wasted no time unwrapping its accompanying video.
Simple, yet effective.
On its own, the song plays like a stream of consciousness. Deliberately, it seems. When paired with its video, its elevated and draws one in to the side of stardom few ever see or hear first-hand.
We’re buzzed for what’s to come.
Poor girl. Nobody checking for her. If her record label didnt screws her, she will be as big as miley and Taylor today
She should have marketed herself as a fresh new artist.
???? What do you mean market her as a fresh artist? It’s precisely because of her discography and live showings that people f*** with JoJo. Hopefully casual listeners will get into her and she can combine this with her core fan base to create a bigger followings. Unlike other smoke and mirrors artists Jo Jo has talent for daaaaaaayyyyyssssss and even if she doesn’t make it mainstream she will always be talented . Have a fake number 1 does not equal talent. ????
“You should date somebody famous, that’ll probably put you on the A-List.”
She didn’t even have to do anything and she read your girl Camila. She’s spent the last 3 years touring and acknowledging the music and fans that have stuck around through the s*** that Blackground put her through. It would be silly to pretend like she wasn’t a huge popstar, however brief it was.
She’s got real talent and she’s not rushing out projects to capitalize on her proximity to Taylor Swift or fabricating a relationship for exposure.
Effective. I have my fingers crossed for a solid soul record with perhaps a few features (PJ Morton, Austin Brown)…
She’s better than anyone currently on the charts. Her music and talent is A-1 and is much rather that then her trying to make a bunch of generic pop songs to cater to the tragic pop charts. Keep doing u boo. They can’t see you on the mic
love her and love this. i want her to win
I have a feeling this is the intro to the album and i LOOOOOOVE the video! and message behind it! https://youtu.be/oMp58oVociw
Video looks great, and so does JoJo.
