Rihanna Covers Vogue / Talks New Reggae Album

Published: Wednesday 9th Oct 2019 by Sam

Rihanna is the November cover star of Vogue Magazine.

Rocking one of her own Fenty ensembles, the Bajan belle glows a-front of the fashion bible.

Within her interview feature, the entrepreneur seizes the moment to spill on her hotly anticipated ninth studio album – a set she’s billed as being rooted in Reggae.

Her words and additional pics from her accompanying shoot await below…

Speaking on R9, RiRi said:

“I have been trying to get back into the studio. It’s not like I can lock myself in for an extended amount of time, like I had the luxury of doing before. I know I have some very unhappy fans who don’t understand the inside bits of how it works.”

She went on to say of its sound:

“I like to look at it as a reggae-inspired or reggae-infused album. It’s not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae. But you’re going to feel the elements in all of the tracks.

Reggae always feels right to me. It’s in my blood. It doesn’t matter how far or long removed I am from that culture, or my environment that I grew up in; it never leaves. It’s always the same high. Even though I’ve explored other genres of music, it was time to go back to something that I haven’t really homed in on completely for a body of work.”

She also confirmed that she’s prepping two distinct bodies of work:

“We always went into the music this time around saying that we were going to do two different pieces of art. One was gonna be inspired by the music that I grew up listening to. And one was gonna be the evolution of where I’m going next with music.”

When quizzed on its release date, she exclaimed:

“No, oh my God, they’re gonna kill you for that! And they’re going to kill me more! But they’ve earned it. They got me here.”

Right now ppl are putting pressure on Cardi for doing what Rihanna is doing… however, if Cardi were to answer like this it would help the supporters understand.

The songs will be hot for 1 week and after that everybody will move on and forget about the album
Happened to lemonade, happened to every thing is love, happened to the gift.

the highest the lead single will reach on the chart is number 15.

      • You tried October 9, 2019

Clarkson that’s not true Lemonade didn’t Disappear in a week. The visuals were amazing and it wasn’t widely released on streaming apps. Also realize this probably isn’t a teal Bey fan just a troll baiting people to be negative about Beyoncé. Anyways looking forward to new Rihanna music.

This is probably her worst vogue spread. She looks very disinterested and boring.

She’s never made a bad album and always sets the bar for where pop music is currently at. Gaga seems to be the modern Madonna and Rihanna the modern Janet as far as pushing the sound of pop in a new direction and everyone else following

Rihanna will never be a Janet. Janet has timeless classic music, paired with even more timeless classic videos, paired with even more timeless classic dance routines. Janet is on a totally different tier above rihanna. Rihanna definitely does her thing though but not even close to how Janet does/did. No comparison
