After parting ways with her longtime label and manager, Tinashe is back and doing things her way.
Last week brought with it the debut of new single ‘Die A Little Bit,’ which was paired with a high-octane dance-driven video.
And it looks as though fans won’t be waiting all that long for its parent project.

Replying to a fan on Instagram, she confirmed that the “album” (which is said to be titled ‘Songs For You’) will be arriving in November.
As for charting hopes? She says she’s not fussed in the slightest:
Given how commercial success does often have a direct correlation with other lucrative opportunities, we struggle to see how any artist doesn’t care about the charts…to some degree.
But hey, if she’s happy.
Given how much we’ve been spinning ‘Die A Little Bit,’ here’s hoping she’s able to do “her” creatively while also yielding the results on the charts. Because her talent and tenacity are very deserving of reaping all the rewards.

Clarkson, the only one who’s about to get DROPPED from a label is Camila Cabello. Do you think Epic Records is pleased at her four songs flopping after they put two high budget videos out, paid pop radio to play Liar and Shameless every hour on the hour the day of its release, and then the SNL fiasco (neither Easy or Cry For Me Charted). She is the one running through her budget and not making any traction. You need to be worried about her instead of obsessing over Normani you idiot. I do think Cici was managed poorly. They didn’t roll out Fantasy Ride and Basic Instinct properly which caused her to be overshadowed by her peers. Plus 2008-2011 was gruesome. Many large Pop players at that time: Gaga, Britney, Bey, Rih, Katy, Kesha, Nicki, and more (ahh a moment) and there was no room for cici. No food left on the table. Also during this time social media was evolving, Stan bases were forming and cici couldn’t grasp any of that.
To her credit she still managed to get a Hit during her dark times. Fantasy Ride had Never Ever and LSM, Basic Instinct had Ride, Ciara had Body Party and I’m out, Jackie had I Bet, and Beauty Marks had level up.
No they weren’t worldwide #1 hits but they all made an impact. They charted, got a RIAA plaque, and some got over 100 million views on YouTube. Level Up has over 200 million which I find impressive.

The girl’s talent is undeniably PRESENT. She’s one of the few entertainers that put the art first; however, her attitude is still off. Music is a performing art. The selling of music as a commodity is a business. Tinashe seems to still grapple with respecting the business as much as the art. Unless she plans to do music as a side gig and create other hustles, I’m nervous for her. But the universe could align and let her artistry shine so….bright the money/ notoriety just comes as a result.
But her persona seems to slow that down as well. I’ve been asking for her to interview less and perform more. Her social media presence is amazing too. Instagram is a playground for creative ppl like her. Truly love seeing her artist ig stories and photos. Outside of that.. she may be one of those ppl better enjoyed in an intimate setting.. see Beyonce

Tinashe is very underrated. My issue with her is that I don’t have connection with her. I don’t wake up and say to myself “I wonder what Tinashe is doing” “what project is she working on” “what she up to” etc. I think she should find a way to build an audience outside of music.

What slides she like to do in her free time? What is she passionate about? What really inspires her? People like FKA Twigs, Princess Nokia, etc. have been able to build really core fan bases based off of their personalities alone. It makes the music that much more interesting. Tinashe hasn’t given anybody a reason to really care.
