Published: Friday 22nd Nov 2019 by Sam

Ciara sprung a surprise on fans moments ago with the debut of new song ‘Melanin.’

CiCi recruits an eclectic mix of ladies to salute Black Girl Magic on the high-energy track, which also features Lupita Nyong’o, City Girls, Ester Dean, and Lala.

Speaking on the song, the singer – whose hit ‘Level Up’ was recently certified Platinum – said it’s her impetus is to celebrate all my #Melanin Queens around the world.”

Take a listen to Dean produced jam below…

Cool concept, great message.

Yes she is and I LOVE this song reminds me of salt n pepa. Gosh I miss when music was this lively and diverse on the norm.

Another ciara song that will go nowhere

She probably gonna perform it at the American music awards this sunday,

Some people faves are not invited to this event cause they were not nominated

Some people’s faves are hosting the redcarpet show (lauren from 5th harmony)

While my faves was nominated, is invited and will be performing at the main show

My faves is also sitting next to Taylor swift and Selena Gomez, main pop girls with number 1’s. Some people can not relate.

With all this pandering, Cardi F, Jhoe and Camela should team up and make a spanish song titled Fracaso Putas aka Flop hoez along those lines.

        Bìtch clinging to what?
Selena recently got a number 1, so she can sit at the same table with Camila and Taylor and lizzo. A table with pop girl who have number 1’s.
Normani can never sit at this table.
She doesnt have a number 1

Camila has more number 1’s than selena tho.
Camila has two latin grammys and 3 normal Grammy nominations
Selena has never been nominated for a Grammy

      • Tori November 22, 2019

You’re such a damn Imbecile, it’s embarrassing. Don’t nobody want to sit at a table with Taylor ass, always watching what you say or she’ll make a profit of it, Lizzo “The Parkers” reboot looking ass nor Camila lil s** trafficking victim looking ass. Wasnt she just on Shawns Instagram live looking thirsty as f*** for people to know that’s her fake boyfriend who gave her another hit since she needed help! ?????‍♂️???! And there’s a reason no one brought up the Latin Grammy, it’s the Equivalent of buying a smart tv from the pawn shop!

      • XYZ November 22, 2019

Who the f*** cares bout a number 1? Selena could buy camila’s whole existence

This does not have the appeal Brown Skin Girl had whatsoever, how are you gonna make a pop song and dedicate it to the blacks girl. Take several seats. Who the hell is Lala ,I googled it and I still don’t know what it is or what it does.

    • Dr November 22, 2019

But brown skin girl flopped what appeal ????

    • Tori November 22, 2019

It’s literally not mentioned any where that the song was trying to have any of the appeal of BSG, which flopped btw.

I love me some Cici i’am a fan for life but I don’t know about this one im not feelin it maybe it’s just me i’ll try to give it a few more listens but I hope the video would power the song and give it life.

Cant knock Ciara’s hustle, but this song is garbage. It will give her something to perform on the AMA’s, but as a listen this is a miss…

  6. Jasmine The Real Princess November 22, 2019

No one cares. It’ll flop anyway.

@Jasmine .. – hahaha! Tell us how you really feel.

  7. Truth November 22, 2019

    No lie Lupita killed it

  8. Meme November 22, 2019

What a mess. I see where they were going but they need to bring in another writing to rework this song. It’s too long and repetitive. The only parts I enjoyed was Lala, Lupita and City girls.

  9. PinotNoir November 22, 2019

Nicki & Bey get no shoutouts?

    Unless Nahla was for Bey.

    Poor Michelle! ?

    • pat November 22, 2019

      the song is about melanin

      • PinotNoir November 22, 2019

        Nicki and Bey are black.

        Your point?

    • Tori November 22, 2019

Did either give Ciara a shout out?

      • PinotNoir November 22, 2019

But in this song, everybody from Cardi to Meghan The Stallion got shouted out.

        Why not Nicki?

      • Jasmine The Real Princess November 22, 2019

Because she’s a washed up flop

  10. Rico November 22, 2019

This is different and fresh !! I love it

  11. Why November 22, 2019

Summer song in the Fall WTF even mentions summer in the song

  12. only facts November 22, 2019

Ciara, I used to LIVE for you (“Ride” is still on repeat 10 years later for me). But, WTF is this?! The concept was good but the execution was pure TRASH. Like, CIARA! You do NOT have the ear for a hit! Either get someone to find you better music, or stop making music!

  13. Bryant November 22, 2019

Sounds like something from RuPauls Drag Race ?

  14. Olamide November 22, 2019

Since from her return with level up, I’ve loved this woman.

  15. J November 22, 2019

Ester Dean’s whole EP sounds like this. It shocked and disappointed me lol. I used to love Ester’s work, but I don’t know how many “Me So Horny” knock offs I can listen to lol. Ciara added to the mix was bad enough but adding everyone else just hurt the song more. It’s a bad day when LaLa low-key has the best part of a song lol. Good message, bad execution. Still love CiCi though. #RantOver
