Sam Smith sprinkles a little sparkle onto the airwaves with new single ‘I Feel Love.’
The British belter bills their take on the Donna Summer track as “the highest I’ve ever sung.” But also went onto share a deeper reasoning for recording the track:
“As a queer person ‘I feel love’ has followed me to every dance floor in every queer space from the minute I started clubbing. This song to me is an anthem of our community and it was an honour and most importantly so much fun to have a go at it…”
‘I Feel Love’ follows ‘How Do You Sleep?’ and ‘Dancing With A Stranger,’ both of which are expected to appear on Smith’s upcoming third studio album.

Love Sam and love he’s feeling himself but this sounds identical to Jimmy Somerville’s version. Sam might have to cut a royalties check.

I like Sam but, um…i’m not sure. DWAS and HDYS were bops, but this is targeted to the gay clubs only…and that’s no shade because I’m gay. But something tells me this album isn’t going to perform very well, hence the label not being eager to release it.
So he’s doing Frank Ocean in reverse: he built a commercial fan base and is now feeling himself to the point he needs to remind us of what each song means to his sexuality. Like guuuuuurl – nobody cuuuur in this day and age. It’s great to walk in your truth and nobody is suggesting he stay closeted – but I don’t think Sam repeatedly tying his musical output to his sexuality is going to do anything for LGBTQ advancement. Stay on topic and just SING please ??♂️

Madonna’s remake from 2006 is MUCH better!
Not a fan of his recent femme queen aesthetic. It feels forced and less authentic than somebody like Toddrick Hall. But I will say this is a decent cover of Queen Donna Summer’s disco classic.

He used to be such a simple guy who let his talent speak for itself.
Now he sounds full of himself.
I can understand he feels more comfortable and wishes to speak more about certain topics. But it doesn’t need to be constant.
First he was fat, then she became scary thin, and now they’re getting really annoying with that voice.
