With a peak of #21 on the Hot 100 (to date), ‘Type’ comes as one of the year’s best performing SOLO female Rap numbers. A feat aided by a handsome mixture of streams, digital downloads, radio airplay, multiple unofficial remixes, the viral #MyTypeChallenge, and more, the London on da Track-produced cut – which prominently samples Petey Pablo‘s 2003 hit ‘Freek-a-Leek’ – serves as the California-born beauty’s breakthrough hit.
Its enduring commercial performance on charts was awarded by the RIAA recently when it was announced the tune had crossed the organization’s threshold for Platinum status, denoting sales equivalence of over 1 million units shifted.
The success of the song undoubtedly increases calls for the femcee’s first studio album.

True. Her “hits” are just reworkings of other people’s hits. She lacks originality. It’s not too late for her to differentiate herself though.

I can’t lie – “My Type” was a bop last summer. I never heard of the other song though. I don’t see Saweetie going any farther than she already is. No shade, no tea.
Icy was a remix where she had Kehlani rapping better than some of these females. Saweetie did steal that Beyonce beat too for Emotional with Quavo. She a business woman as well.

She’s unproblematic, she stay in her lane. She deserves what’ success comes her way. She lets black girls know going to school can be cute and fun while learning. She no lyricist however neither is Cardi.. so why is sawatee getting hated on ? Is it because she’s black?
