Billboard 200: Harry Styles’ ‘Fine Line’ Album Opens At #1 With Huge Sales

Published: Sunday 22nd Dec 2019 by Sam

Harry Styles reigns atop of the Billboard 200 with sophomore album ‘Fine Line.’

How big were the numbers? Find out below…

Per Billboard, the set premiered with a colossal 478,000 sales-plus-streaming equivalent  units in the US.

Of that sum, its pure sales figure was 393,000; a stat that supports initial reports that the LP was performing well on physical formats such as vinyl and also by way of an album/tour ticket bundle.

Styles’ opening serves as the third-biggest debut for any album released in 2019 and the biggest first week launch for a Pop album by a male act in more than four years.

Notably, ‘Fine Line’ also logs the largest opening sales for an LP by a sol male performer from the UK since US sales started being tracked electronically in 1991.

Congrats!

    Wow I’m surprised.
All I’ve heard is his very first solo single from his debut album. Which I liked.
But I never cared about him like that to check out his music.
    Good for him, congratulations.

I like the 2 songs that Niall has released, he is the best solo surprise to me.

So why did he flop in his home country?

It’s only Americans that are buying into this david Bowie rip off.
British people dont care. They know a fake when they see one.

‘Fine Line’ by Harry Styles debuts at No. 3 on the UK Official Albums Chart with impressive 49,000 units sold.

If u wanna be successful in America, just be british and have a British accent.

Good for him! My fave song is the opening track “Golden” which should become his next single if his team is smart. It’s just catchy enough to stick in your head yet different enough from the other people out there. It has a New Order/Pet Shop Boys era vibe to it. Post Malone’s “Circles” also has a New Order feel to it, especially the intro. Happy 4 Harry, he seems genuinely nice and I love his love for Stevie Nicks, she is absolutely “Golden” in my book.
