Moments ago, it was revealed that ‘Own It’ – his omnipresent collaboration with Ed Sheeran and Afrobeats blazer Burna Boy – has rocketed from #5 to #1.
Lifted from Stormzy’s critically acclaimed sophomore effort ‘Heavy Is The Head,’ the track now stands as his third chart topper – all of which were accrued in the space of 12 months. Following ‘Vossi Bop’ and Sheeran’s ‘Take Me Back To London’ (which he recently revealed initially featured US titan Jay-Z).
For Ed, ‘Own It’ is his 9th UK #1, while it serves as Burna Boy’s first.
Speaking on the news, Stormzy said:
“When we shoot, we score! Big up Ed and Burna Boy. Honestly, I’m so grateful. Anyone who listens to me, supports me, buys my music, streams my music or comes to my shows, you lot have changed my life. Words aren’t enough, but thank you.”
