According to TMZ, the rising star’s short life was cut short after being targeted in what appears to be a home invasion robbery.
Per the report, at around 4.30am this morning two men sporting masks broke into Pop’s Hollywood Hills home and opened fire — striking the MC in the process. They then fled the scene.
An ambulance rushed the rapper to Cedar’s Sinai, where he was later pronounced dead.
The assailants have not yet been detained.
Just this week, Pop Smoke’s mixtape ‘Meet The Woo 2’ debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200.

OH MY GOD. You’Ld think we wouldn’t care that much about these artists or celebrity figures but honestly, every unexpected death is more painful and mind blowing than the last. He was just on social media reminding everyone of his small accomplishments with finally hitting mainstream and now…his family has to burry him. Surprised to say I’m as shocked as I am!

Is a privilege? , how does a deceased celebrity personally benefit from a RIP Twitter trend? They are dead.
It’s love and mourning – and it’s synonymous to the amount of people who know they are are .
The media cannot report every single civilian death, it’s not proportionate vs the amount of celebrities that may pass, especially in a tragic way . The media does however have capacity to report on people who are already in the spotlight , civilian murders, tragic instances of Civilian death, mass shootings etc.
What do you propose? That nobody reports that a celebrity has died ? Just because you are unhappy with the grand amount of condolences they receive . That will happen with any well know person. These people have huge followings and it’s only right that if they pass away this is publicly reported to let fans know. Celebrities are entitled to mourners too.
People are aware civilians are dying everyday, they don’t need the news for that.
But someone who lives their life in the spotlight, will be announced as dead in the spotlight , seems pretty fair .
