Keyshia Cole: ‘What if Coronavirus is Here to Help Us?’

Published: Wednesday 25th Mar 2020 by Rashad

As we reported here and here, Vanessa Hudgens, Jaime King, and Queen of Pop Madonna are among the big names in Hollywood being royally dragged for making statements many deem ‘insensitive’ in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

While the heat around Hudgens has cooled, Madge and King’s backlash endures as critics considered their COVID-19 commentary ‘tone deaf’ due to seemingly disregarding the needs of the working class.  Their messages suggested the disease outbreak, despite infecting over 450,000 globally as of time reported, ultimately serves a purpose of good as it’s forced people to unite and cherish what matters most – a sentiment recently echoed by Grammy nominee Keyshia Cole.

Taking to Instagram, the ‘Heaven Sent’ hitmaker referenced a quote that asserted the pandemic was not only sent to be ‘an ally in our evolution,’ but that it’s also helpful as it’s allowed the world to reduce travel (thereby reducing pollution) and reconnect with loved ones.

Her polarizing stance inside:

THOUGHTS??? Someone shared this with me. Thought it was a good prism shift… Amongst all the fear and confusion, there’s this…❤ a different perspective … There is so much fear, and perhaps rightfully so, about COVID-19. And, what if… If we subscribe to the philosophy that life is always working out for us, that there is an intelligence far greater than humans at work… That all is interconnected. What if… the virus is here to help us? To reset. To remember. What is truly important. Reconnecting with family and community. Reducing travel so that the environment, the skies, the air, our lungs all get a break. Parts of China are seeing blue sky and clouds for the first time in forever with the factories being shut down. Working from home rather than commuting to work (less pollution, more personal time). Reconnecting with family as there is more time at home. An invitation to turn inwards — a deep meditation — rather than the usual extroverted going out to self-soothe. To reconnect with self — what is really important to me? A reset economically. The working poor. The lack of healthcare access for over 30 million in the US. The need for paid sick leave. How hard does one need to work to be able to live, to have a life outside of work? And, washing our hands — how did that become a “new” thing that we needed to remember. But, yes, we did. The presence of Grace for all. There is a shift underway in our society — what if it is one that is favorable for us? What if this virus is an ally in our evolution? In our remembrance of what it means to be connected, humane, living a simpler life, to be less impactful/ more kind to our environment. An offering from my heart this morning. Offered as another perspective. Another way of relating to this virus, this unfolding, this evolution. It was time for a change, we all knew that. And, change has arrived. What if… – Gutpreet Gill

To reset.
To remember.

What is truly important.

Reconnecting with family and community.

Reducing travel so that the environment, the skies, the air, our lungs all get a break.

That’s an interesting take on all of this.

Sometimes the best situations are bitter sweet. People have and will die. I may be one of them, we never know. There might be a better light at the end of the tunnel. The earth is cleaner, water and air is cleaner. Humans are destroying it and Mother Nature called in for a favor to have us slow the f*** down.

i wish these celebrities would stop with this faux-deep analysis of c**********. even though i get what they are trying to say, their statements run too much of a risk of being insensitive to people who have loved ones that have died from the disease.

just keep your opinions to yourself.

I’m here for it. People need to think outside the box. Everything happens for a reason. We are not in control, people. And something’s arent for us to understand. God is in control or whatever higher power you believe in.

A bit of an extreme way for the higher power to get us to wash our hands “I’ll just kill a few thousand of them to get them to wash hands and reduce pollution” I hate when Americans try to get deep/philosophical it’s just not in their nature to be intellectual ??‍♂️

    • Mrs.Bols March 26, 2020

      Well said Adonis?
