She went public with the problem shortly after her project ‘Fever’ generated sales of over 500,000 units worldwide, and revealed that she only noticed there were issues with her contract after the team over at Roc Nation pointed them out to her.
I’m nice and I’m real family oriented but people will be greedy and shady.
She explained that she hoped 1501 would amend the issues and was stunned when, as far as she sees it, put plans in place to stifle her progress in the music industry.

I don’t think this should be public information. There are people who should be handling this behind the scenes.
To all these upcoming artists no matter the genre just simply read the f****** contract and with a professional legal lawyer – make clear of your demands and negotiate them – royalties publishing catalog fashion the entire brand of your image – it’s not too hard to discuss. These people claim to be bosses but are mere puppets having their strings pulled by the real bosses they have no choice but to answer. Another prime example of why it’s still important to read books ? and beware how history can repeat itself if you allow it too – ex : Motown, Bad Boys, Sony, ect
A lot of times the label sets the artist with a lawyer who is working in favor of the label. Also a lot of entertainment lawyers won’t take on new clients unless they have a referral. So the New artist still can’t get a lawyer who is impartial and they have a lawyer working for the label
New artists are scared if they make too many demands, they will lose the deal, that’s why they sign immediately without making demands.
Some of these artistes are so poor, they come from poor families, some are even homeless, so when label executives offer them 3 or 4 million dollars on the spot, they sign immediately without even checking or going thru the contract.
Can u blame them, they’ve never seen that kind of huge amount of money before, so they sign.
This happens far too often with artists, especially young women. They see dollar signs and immediately sign their lives away, not knowing what the future holds. Kash Doll went through the same thing and by the time her legal battle ended she had lost ALL momentum.
