Kelly Rowland is officially part of the Roc.
For, the GRAMMY-winning songbird has revealed that she has signed to Jay-Z‘s entertainment juggernaut Roc Nation.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the firm have been actively plugging Kelly’s single ‘Coffee’ – leading to murmurs about a partnership between both entities.
During a recent interview with AP, the 39-year-old confirmed the news.
On Signing To Roc Nation:
“Roc Nation is my management company. That’s new. : It’s family and it just happened. It just really happened to work and it’s working out really well so far. My team, I have a great team. It’s not to say I didn’t have a great team before, I had a great team before. You evolve, you move on and that’s really it and Roc Nation is home now.”
On Being Independent:
“Yes [I am], for now. There have been really cool calls. At the same time, it’s such a different space and time in music now. I think in my head it’s just navigating it all. I’m definitely independent. It’s something about it that I’m really, really loving and there’s something about it where you’re just like, “Oh I need a little bit more of some budget money to execute some of this.” I always say that dog’on Destiny’s Child set me up because we had visuals. People are like, “You gon’ release a song with no visuals?” Now that I released ‘Coffee’ people are like, “OK, what are we going to get next? What visual are we going to get next?” So I do feel that pressure, but I just want to take it a little easier on myself.”
On Her New Album:
“I’m very excited about this album. I’m excited for the fact that the years that it took me to find tempo. …The whole album’s not up-tempo, but I’m excited to share my tempo. I feel like I always had mids and slower records but yeah, I’m ready to dance. Especially when we come out of all this, we need to dance.”

Kelly biggest problem is her confidence, she never sounds sure of herself. She needs to work on that.

I’ve never been a huge jelly Rowland fan. She’s very talented and I think she can sing she’s just never been my cup of tea but I really like this song. Hope the rest of this album sounds decent and not just one or two actual hits

Coffee is a gorgeous video, but the song sucks and is too short. It serves better as an interlude. Her worst lead single after kisses down low 🙄 I want kelly to win, but it’s like she doesn’t want to see success. Why doesn’t she realize we want another motivation? I’ll never forgive her for not making “work it man” a single. Such a bop. Ugh. Kelly AND Ciara frustrate me because they’re mismanaged and don’t know what to do

Nah coffee is great. It’s short but honestly it gives me everything I need in its little 2 mins. It from the way it sounds Coffee is only a warm up to the real bangers coming up.
Hell kelly has kinda always been ahead of the curve she used a Rich Harrison Banger before he was really known for being “Beyoncé and Ameries uptempo guy”. She went slow and explicit before many of these chicks including Yonce with Motivation. Put out two explicit albums while Yonce was still toeing the line tryna be the good girl before following suit. This super slow kinda trap R&B phase we seem to be stuck in in many ways Started with Kelly’s “Talk a Good Game” she noted that herself.

COFFEE is EVERYTHING!!!! It gives me everything I need in 2mins and when it’s over I just repeat it. Next single should be mid June and album should be out no later than mid July Kelly!! Don’t forget that. Since MS.KELLY the issue has always been timing and consistency so make sure you got it right this time

The news she’s signed to them for management isn’t surprising given that the cover art is in the same style as B’s last album as was the rollout of “Coffee. 1 week’s notice.
Kelly’s been indoctrinated as a kid. She feels canine-like loyalty/ indebtedness to The Knowless. Just as she had started solidifying her make-good-musical-choices-alone muscle (after breaking free of Matthew’s strong strangle hold on her individuality), she goes back under Bey’s shadow where nothing creative grows. If you think her former bandmate would let Jay make her star shine brighter than his wife’s, you underestimate her controlling, me-first ways. RiRi’s hiatus must be good news to her right now.
