Chile she done opened a can of worms with this one 😂😂 . White woman victim hood of being oppressed and unable to express herself through music? With all that’s happening with the Beckys and Karens of the world you’re going for that angle? And you used Women of colour in your argument. Chile white people really showing their ass and true colours. Phew!!!

It’s so easy to jump on the: NEWSFLASH!!! WHITE WOMAN HAS THE AUDACITY TO COMPLAIN DESPITE PRIVILEGE!!! 😲😲😲😲 wagon – however anyone who knows Lana knows she is a woke thinking woman.

She’s all about her art and SELF expression. This is about the double standard against a WOMAN for daring to talk about the dark painful side of living and living without hiding it behind an overly sexualised narrative that in itself can dilute any intended message.

I stan for Bey all day fo life but let’s not pretend she isn’t (like many many female artists) overly sexual ☝🏾The difference is the other girls play the game as required by the industry – whereas Lana unapologetically does not – and gets called out for it.

“She is a woke thinking woman”

      🤡🤡
Woke thinking women font put other women down, especially women of colour who find it hardest to succeed in any industry

Kehlani doesn’t even have a number one song.

      U are dull
U dont know what a women person is
And just because u have 2 lana del rey songs on ur playlist that doesn’t make u cool or edgy or indie. 🤡🤡

U are still a basic hood rat who watches real housewives and stans Nene leaks.

@Haterz First you said Lana doesn’t use an over sexualized narrative to push her art… Then you said she does it unapologetically (unlike everybody else) and gets criticized for it… You contradicted yourself. And it’s wrong, because Lana’s entire point is that she has been doing the SAME thing Ariana, Nicki, Beyoncé, Doja, etc. have done, but they get rewarded for it. Lana knows her lyrics are overly provocative and you delusional if you think they aren’t. But i don’t think she’s right to compare herself to those other women, because it’s not the same situation. Lana’s not getting criticized because she sings about s**. I think her deep fascination with a certain lifestyle and time period troubles people. And it’s easy to misunderstand what elements of that time she agrees with or not when you’re not a big enough fan of her to know who she is. The “being a mistress on the side” and “f****d my way to the top” lines will have you make assumptions about her values. So I don’t know why you don’t think Lana’s message is being diluted by s** when.. it’s literally being diluted by s** which is what her problem is. THAT is why she’s criticized and feels singled out.

I personally love the way Lana expresses actual love/admiration for men though. Don’t hear that often. That could be the other reason. I think some girls think the whole “men is trash” mentality makes you a feminist. Stupid.

@Hmmmmm you misread what is said.

****“ The difference is the other girls play the game as required by the industry…” **** Meaning: Pushing over sexualised visuals, performances

****”whereas Lana unapologetically does not – and gets called out for it.”***

Most of the time Lana is not pushing overly sexualised imagery – she may sing about s** but it is not to the same extent as Nikki, JLo, Bey, Xtina, Rihanna.

So other people are pushing the s** narrative. “Whereas Lana unapologetically does not and gets called out for it”.

Lana gets called out for NOT pushing oversexualization??? That doesn’t make sense. That’s literally the opposite of what Lana is saying in her letter. Most of the time Lana IS pushing an oversexualized narrative. She herself has acknowledged this. Her entire point is, “Why do they get to talk about s** freely, and I don’t?”. In other words, WE ALL do it, but I get criticized for it. So what you’re saying about her and what she’s saying about herself, doesn’t match up.
