Did You Miss It? Fantasia Salutes #BlackLivesMatter with Virtual Concert [Video]

Published: Wednesday 17th Jun 2020 by Rashad

Armed with a brigade of her biggest hits (i.e. ‘Free Yourself,’ ‘Hood Boy,’ ‘When I See You,’ ‘Lose To Win,’ and many more), Fantasia took to Charlotte’s Fillmore recently (June 12) to salute the #BlackLivesMatter movement and pay homage to those who have fallen at the hands of police brutality.

Hosting a virtual concert with proceeds going to families who have been affected by police violence, the event requested viewers contribute a minimum donation of $8.46 (in honor of the 8 minutes and 46 seconds former police officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on Black Minneapolis man George Floyd‘s neck leading to his death).

Showing out like only she can, did you miss the jam-packed event?  See Fannie crank out her greatest hits alongside some classic R&B favorites inside:

Been a fan since to the start, so it’s great to see her evolve as an artist and a performer. Just think, in 4 more years, it will be 20 years. I still think she has more to offer…we haven’t seen her best. Keep at Tasia. Much love

Thank You Fantasia. Alot of these artist are acting like they’re above this type of performance but honestly without all the hype and production, they have no stage presence and can’t survive using their gift alone. There’s no excuse why these artist can’t prosper even during this time in music, they just honestly are in it for all the wrong reasons.

Beyonce and Fantasia are the new tia turner and patti labelle, they the only girls that perform, they just don’t know how to promote fantasia

Sadly she’s a flop but her performances are always electrifying. She performed like it was a full house.

She’s not successful as she should be because her people support average autotuned skanky artists that are probably light skinned or white rather than someone who has a genuine astonishing talent . Remember black lives matter as well

The first sentence wasn’t necessary. Fantasia is a successful R&B artists and has receipts to show for it. #1 singles, platinum/gold plaques, a stint on Broadway, sold out tours & Grammy Award just to name a few accomplishments of hers. She never has to release another album. She can tour the rest of her life and be set. Stop showing fake love.

Flop? Chile boo, you’re silly and immature. That woman owns the masters to all her songs, records on her own label, and can tour at will to sold out tours. Please don’t compare her to any of your favs whose gifts are still being prostituted and receiving pennies on the dollar for #1 songs. Fantasia works for Fantasia, your fav is still some label’s s**** who has to have whitey’s permission to wipe their ass sideways. Stop drinking the koolaid junior.

Fantasia is like Aretha Patti and Tina turner in one

Makes sense why they all adored her. Natural raw talent with great musicality and stage presence who doesn’t need a lot of fluff and smoke and mirrors to fool audiences into thinking they are watching true artistry.

She is STILL an incredible talent

Thank you for mentioning her concert, none of the other network, like GMA, or the Today Show. She put an excellent show without an audience inside the building except the essential personnel. Fantasia is such an amazing artist but so under rated. Again, thank you for mentioning her concert…..
