As we reported here, Global Citizen amassed some of the leading names in entertainment, politics, social activism, and more for the benefit concert “Global Goal: Unite for Our Future.”
Airing June 27, the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson-hosted event – which was live-streamed on Apple, Roku, TIDAL, Twitch, Twitter, Yahoo! and YouTube – placed focus on communities that are disproportionately impacted by the pandemic (namely people of color, people facing discrimination, and the less fortunate) and came as a partnership with the European Commission.
In addition to seeing its virtual stage rocked by 8x GRAMMY winner Usher (as we reported here), fellow GRAMMY winners Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Shakira, and Jennifer Hudson respectively followed suit with equally rocking performances.
