The 2020 BET Awards are under way and, as ever, you can expect That Grape Juice to be bringing you the performances shortly after they air on television.

Held virtually for the first time ever (in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic), the ceremony – which celebrates its 20th year of honoring the achievements of people of color in music, sports, movies, TV, and more –  shines with showings from Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Usher, and many more.

The performances are garbage especially Megan thee stallions she basically just recreated the Mya Case of the ex video or did a parody to mad max

Wow! Megan finally released her true performance potential. With her doing this and Cardi killing it. They will be come the two big mamas of hip hop. Whoa!

I’m so proud of Mrg, Da Babby and Rich! Roddy needs a bit more performance work cause he lacks stage presence but he’s definitely talented, hardworking and humble. Meg has KILLED it. I got nervous hearing the first song but she brought it. Da Baby wasnt scared to make a political statement so I commend him. He was silent or just made an Instagram post, I tilt my hat. D Smoke and SIR were nice! I hope to see them on the Hip Hop Awards too, they’re great and offers a deeper sense than the other more commercial performers. The productions for these performances are very great, glad we didn’t get some living room or bedroom phone footage like what I’ve been seeing but some actual thought were behind these to make us at least feel like were at a love performance.

I lost my mind seeing Alicia in makeup again. The way her eyes are accentuated just melted my soul. Even better, the video is one of the most stunning visuals I’ve ever seen. The water flowing around Alicia at the piano, the images of the victims and their names chalked in the street, the lights of the city in the background, the grand pianos sitting in the street, and every close up, long shot and medium shot of Alicia… I am MESMERIZED!! I am a complete fan of this song now and I think the tide may be turning in Alicia’s favor. I could cry. I need that tour rescheduled NOW!

As an awards show, this is horrible, but as a music special Im not mad about anyone except Roddy Rich. Pure trash as a performer and my expectations for him were already low.

Meg just doesn’t do it for me.

  7. Trose June 28, 2020

Baby chloe and Halle came to play in their own words “the kids are alright!” F***** love them!

Actually, most, if not all of these, are multiple takes slepped into one video with the best vocal performance overdubbed over it. Multiple artists have shown some of their behind the scenes photos and videos. For instance, Kierras performance is the combination of 5 performances all done live back to back. Also, you can hear alot of them breathing between verses and adlibs. Not being on the stage gives them the freedom to actually do it to perfection with multiple takes. Why should they not present an award show that was already in the works if there’s a way to still present it even during a pandemic?

Megan showed Nicki & Cardi B how a performance should be done Properly. It ain’t no shade. It ain’t no shade. & you know what, I still said what I said..lol

I dont know but the bet Awards start to beocome very boring from year to year nothing special anymore the only peformance i liked was Chloe x Halle

  11. Queenly June 29, 2020

Loved the show! I wouldn’t mind if BET took the virtual route permanently. Award shows as a whole have become such a bore.

Amanda Aside. Great show. I enjoyed most of the performances I think BET might be on to something with this seeing how the traditional award show is dying
