Beyoncé Extends Reign As BET Awards’ Most Awarded Act Ever

Published: Sunday 28th Jun 2020 by Rashad

As of June 27, music superstar Beyoncé – with 30 career wins to her credit – was already the undisputed Queen of the BET Awards, but that title was cemented with triumphs scored at the franchise’s 2020 edition (which aired June 28).

Entering with 4 nominations (BEST FEMALE R&B/POP ARTIST, ALBUM OF THE YEAR, BET HER AWARD, BEST MOVIE), the 38-year-old had already extended the record with foreknowledge she had been selected as the year’s Humanitarian Award recipient (as we reported here).

Now, the official winner’s list (as published here), reveals she’s pushed the count even further.

Look inside to see what trophies she walked away with from tonight’s show:

  • BET HER Award
  • BET Humanitarian Award

In addition to accepting the BET Humanitarian Award (click here to see her acceptance speech), the multi-hyphenate diva also saw her name printed on the 2020 BET HER Award for the inspirational cut “Brown Skin Girl” (featuring Saint Jhn, Wizkid, and her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter) found aboard the 2019 ‘Lion King’ companion album, ‘The Gift.’

The new trophies bring her BET Award collection to 32 total, with her first dating back to 2001 for scoring a BEST GROUP win with Destiny’s Child.  She collected her first solo award, BEST FEMALE R&B ARTIST, at the network’s 2004 ceremony for the success of her breakout solo hit, ‘Crazy In Love.’

Great. Now stop with this pretentious music and get back to what we want. Love you chille, but even as a die hard ive become bored with the same visuals and sound the last 5 years. Its starting to feel like over kill. Very… solonge-ish. I love the growth in her music but shes stuck now. Make me dance again, make me grove, feel passion, chills. But i dont need a lion king pt 2.

I feel the same exact way!!! And I love Bey!!! But I don’t really care for the negro bounce spirituals, sorry not sorry! We get it! Your a strong black women but leave the unapologetically black thing to Solange 🤷🏽‍♂️

AMAZING that they keep awarding her…..but she’s TO SNOBBISH and a Big Celeb to make a live appearance or performance at an URBAN award show. She’s a FAKE. who has forgotten about her people UNLESS its associated with a paycheck. But she will do the Grammy’s in a heartbeat – where them White people are OVER her.

Either your new beyhive or old beyhive but y’all aren’t current beyhives. Eventually beyoncé has to grow. She said in “4” she is not the same beyonce people think they know. And she hasn’t been. “Get back to making radio songs cuz I’m bored ” she keep telling people the message is bigger than a radio friendly hit. In “life is but a dream” she said she has already been commercially successful so why would try to do that again. She conquers something and moves on. That’s how you grow instead of doing the same thing. Look at the popular artist they don’t still have the same fame cuz they stayed the same. They didn’t grow. So chill and watch her work

at this point who cares. Her music is 15 years stale already. Even her stans growing tired. And BET always clout chasing. They dont showcase black excellence only who they is black enough to get one their plastic low grade thrift shop made trophies. Network been a flop since free and AJ left. But good for her.
