Trina is wasting no time addressing the drama she found herself in this morning, after comments she made about the race riots fell foul of public favor.
As reported, the rapper slammed the riots that have broken out in the wake of George Floyd’s death.
The passing of the unarmed Black man, after Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nine minutes, has sparked protests and broader discourse about racial injustice.
It’s exactly this that has so many riled up at Trina, who used her Miami radio platform to brand rioters as “animals” and suggest it’s Black people destroying Black businesses.
She went on to stress that she isn’t afraid of being stopped by police while driving because she has her “license and registration.”
Despite the backlash, she’s undeterred. So much so that she’s doubling down on her comments.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote:

Some of y’all are plain f*ckN ignorant and nothing nobody do will help period.

It goes without saying that there are passionate perspectives on both sides of the equation.
However, much as we love us some Trina, we feel she could have better articulated her sentiments. Especially given her core audience – Black people. Many of who do face daily injustice while living (and driving).
She’s totally entitled to her views, but she would have made her argument much more digestable had she engaged with the disenfranchisement that tends to cause such upheaval. Even if she was still going to circle round to critique it.
Going about it the way she did just does her and her argument a major disservice.

To to agree with Clarkson at all, but honestly…i live in one of the most racist states in the south (Louisiana) and the only time my family has been effected by white on black/black acts of crime was twice, in the 1940’s and the 1960. But I can write you a lengthy book on the times that we’ve been affected by black on black crimes. 5 murders, a shooting and a stabbing, all by blacks. Afew break ins, car jacking and much more. Not even ghetto, in nice neighborhoods as well. Even have dealt with black doctors who were too lazy to do their jobs and wrote my cousin off as a C**** patient when the entire time she had a blood clot. Black on black crime is not just a phrase, its real. Black people don’t want to talk about it because usally they have a family member who’s participated in it so it hits in a different way when your trying to protect the problem! All this does is prove that blacks are more responsible than whites for the number of black people murdered every year. Using the race data you provided, 89% of black murder victims in 2016 were killed by a black offender. Not even 1% of the 2,870 deaths were done by a white offender!! If we’re going to point out racial disparities in this country using the phrase “black lives matter”, we need to face the crimes of our own doing (“black on black”) which clearly outweigh the number of white people killing us.
