Thanks to music released by the likes Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Vic Mensa, Beyonce and Megan thee Stallion, Spotify has seen its subscriber count rise to the 299 million mark in the second quarter of what has been an eventful year.
Our business performed well in Q2 and continues to operate at a high level despite the continuing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
The streaming service told shareholders that it faced a modest dip in the weeks following the outbreak of the global health crisis but saw its numbers soar by 29% in the second quarter to push their total number to 299 million unique subscribers around the world.
Spotify Premium, the service which offers subscribers unique experiences on the application, watched its total subscriber figure ascend to 138 million.
Powering its gain were releases unlocked by an creative community which has offered the general public a buffet of musical content for the general public to feast on.
Newcomers like Jensen McRae are in that number.
