Teyana Taylor may be pregnant, but she’s not backing down from jabs.
For, moments ago, the R&B singer found herself at the center of a spar with Mykki Blanco.
A performer and transgender activist, Blanco featured on Taylor’s jam ‘WTP (Work That P**sy’ – which is lifted from 2018 album ‘K.T.S.E.’
Yet, in a heated social media entry, the 34-year-old blasted the experience and lamented non-payment for their services.
Taking specific aim at Taylor, several accusations were hurled – including allegations of negative bias surrounding their HIV status.
Taylor was having none of it.

Mykki kicked off the spar when they took to Instagram with the following:
“Can you believe it’s been two years and Universal Music has still not paid me my feature fee for this song? Can you believe it took 1 year with the help of my lawyer to get credited on the song, because it did. I wrote on and co- produced this track as well as writing the verse that Kanye literally raps on “Hurry”. Is that a big accomplishment to write for other artists NO, this isn’t about clout.

The reason I have gone public with this is not to bad mouth @teyanataylor, but her ENTIRE team and Universal have treated me WITH SO MUCH DISRESPECT, THEY HAVE TREATED ME BAD YALL… REALLY BAD, I HATE DOING THIS ON SOCIAL MEDIA BUT I HAVE HAD IT!!!!! It’s a pandemic, like so many musicians I’m completely out of work. I’m doing writing jobs here and there but almost all of my income like so many others stems from touring. I’ve had it, I didn’t want to go public but the way I have been treated is really, really, really bad. These people have been flippant, rude, they have lied, delayed, found me “harmless” and “inconsequential”.

Apparently none of you know how the music BUSINESS works. Teyana, the talent, is not involved in the BUSINESS of her album. The LABEL is responsible for all of that. Just like they get to say what goes on the album and if the album is even released or not. Teyana gets paid a percentage of album sales. Chances are she does not own the music she creates, the LABEL does. If you all really think that an artist is responsible for, or even aware of, everything that goes on with their projects then you should do a little research on the music industry. This is why so many artists have issues with their labels and are unhappy in their situations.
