Set for release on October 2, the collection is comprised of previously unheard gems spanning the length and breadth of Carey’s illustrious career.
Speaking on the LP, Mimi said:
This one is for you, my fans. It’s to celebrate us, and to thank you for years of pure love and support. I am so grateful to you THE RARITIES album is out October 2 . Pre-order now.
Per its pre-order page, it’ll be a double-disc – with side 1 populated by 15 unreleased gems including a song called ‘Save The Day’ featuring Lauryn Hill.
Side 2 is a live set made up of performances from a Tokyo show and includes renditions of ‘Fantasy,’ ‘Vision of Love,’ ‘Anytime You Need A Friend,’ ‘Hero,’ ‘One Sweet Day,’ and more.
The announcement precedes the September 29 release of the diva’s eagerly awaited memoir ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey.’
It also follows a growing list of rare gems the songbird has hatched weekly in commemoration of 30 years in the music business. She aptly christened the mission #MC30.
Suffice to say, Mimi is feeding fans in a major way. Echoing our earlier sentiments, more legendary acts of her ilk ought to take note, because this is how to generate excitement.

And we know..back in the day Mariah Carey didn’t record a bad song….every album cut was a certified hit.
Straight facts, and why? Because this woman is one of the best vocalist and writter of the century. She can be proud of herself, that’s my Queen. She’s probably one of the last biggest talent left from the Michael Jackson era. Are we gonna have other real great artist like them in the future? I really hope… because right now it’s kinda scary to listen to the radio.

I personaly hope it will be unreleased and not b-sides… because she released 14 b-sides through her carriere, + Save the day and we have 15 songs… I really hope it’s not about that. As I bought all her albums and maxi-single, I don’t need it to have it twice.
I heard that Mariah is still waiting for Lauryn Hill to show up for the collab back in 2001.

She’s so inattractive that you are the only one to say it here. Mariah is and will always be a legend, she secured classical hits and albums, not like Beyoncé. Mariah has always been a CREATOR, a REAL artist unlike Beyoncé who’s a thief like many of her friends (Ed Sheeran for example) and others like J.Lo. Mariah is AUTHENTIC and that’s something Beyoncé will never be.
Mariah is so beautiful and serves PURE FACE better than ANY OTHER MUSIC ARTIST. 😂🤳🏽

She told GMA “I found stuff in my vault that I had either started to work on a long time ago and never released or that I wanted to finish mixing,” so we’re either getting the songs as they are or she has gone back and finished them. I hope it’s the latter.
I love MC, but I hope it’s not the latter since her voice is not what it used to be and finishing the songs now would likely result in a disjointed mess. But I’m still excited to here these gems.
