Stream: Toni Braxton’s New Album ‘Spell My Name’

Published: Thursday 27th Aug 2020 by Rashad

True to her word, four months ago Toni Braxton announced music lovers would see her name spelled on the Billboard charts courtesy of a new album, her ninth solo studio effort ‘Spell My Name.’

Landing on digital shelves Friday (August 28), the LP – kicked off by R&B chart-topping hit, ‘Do It,’ and the funky, mid-tempo groove ‘Dance’ – follows the GRAMMY winner’s ill-fated ‘Sex & Cigarettes’ (which quickly burned out on charts in early 2018).

Calling on H.E.R., Missy Elliott, and more familiar names to act as guests on the album (while Antonio Dixon and longtime collaborator Babyface serve among contributing producers and songwriters), the opus serves as Braxton’s debut aboard new label home, Island Records.

Absolutely exquisite, Toni! She will definitely be winning a Grammy for this. Stunning from beginning to end. 10/10

R&B with class! I must say she put together a nice record and makes me happy to hear good music that is grown, s***, elegant and transparent. Good job Miss Braxton!

I cant wait to stream new Toni. This is GROWN folks music. F a Billboard chart.

She already slayed the charts more than any new pop/r and b act EVER will in their lifetime. Nothing left to prove but making quality music for her FANS… not the general public.

I also disagree that S** and Cigarettes was a misfire.

It was a beautifully sung and produced GROWN r n b album released by a 50 plus legend in a music climate that doesnt cater to her genre. LONG As I Live was a No.1 smash on Adult R&B charts. The music video for that song also has over 60 millions views.

It’s so good! As was S** & Cigarettes which I still play to this day! TGJ don’t know quality music, They barely know how to write so that’s no surprise really 🤣 Anyway, enjoy!

I agree with u Ms clarkson. Coping and missing are criminally underrated. Way better than dance.

The album is too short. We are in 2020 Toni hunny! 9 tracks aren’t enough for a standard Album. Stingy woman🤬😡
