It’s not about what LeToya never brought to Destiny’s Child, it’s what she COULD HAVE brought if they had given her some shine while she was in the group. If you’ve heard her solo albums, then you know what she is capable of vocally. It wasn’t until LeToya and Latavia left that they began to give each member their own verses on the album ‘survivor.’ The group was facing criticism because only Bey had verses.
Let’s keep it 💯 Letoya was not a great vocalist in her DC days. Beyonce carried them vocally. A lot of their songs were Beyonce doing a 4 part harmony by herself lmao. And that’s not me just talking, it’s facts. Toyas voice got better after years of consistent, strict vocal coaching. Toya, Tavia and their failed group Anjel worked with Mama Jan to get their vocals together. Even in Anjel, a group SHE started, Toya was not the lead singer lol. Tiffany Beaudoin was lead vocalist. Toya continued working with Mama Jan well into her solo career.
Michelle came into DC as a seasoned vocalist. Beyonce and Kelly admitted that Michelle taught theM SO much abt vocals. Michelle GAVE DC their soulful, gospel sound. UNMATCHED HARMONIES. Toya could never. Not back then anyway.
