Numbers Are In: Mulatto’s Debut Album ‘Queen of Da Souf’ Sold…

Published: Friday 4th Sep 2020 by Rashad

Relative newcomer Mulatto‘s first bid to become Queen of Billboard charts came courtesy of her August 21-released debut album, ‘Queen of Da Souf.’

Fans most familiar with the femcee’s rise to fame know she first garnered national attention as the winner of Lifetime’s reality music competition ‘The Rap Game’ before going Gold with her breakthrough single, ‘B*tch from Da Souf’ (which was later remixed with Saweetie and Trina).

Just days after being named one of only 2 female rappers included in XXL’s coveted ‘Freshman Class’ list for 2020, the femcee (born Alyssa Stephens) released ‘Queen’ to stellar reviews from critics and fans.

Now, with its inaugural tracking week behind her, it’s been revealed where the RCA set premiered on the Billboard 200.

See it inside:

Congratulations are due to the new kid on the block.

With three mixtapes and three EPs to her credit, the #44 debut of ‘Queen’ – her first official studio album – comes as the highest rung she’s reached on the Billboard 200 to date.

At the rate she’s going, we can tell higher chart heights are in her future.

All that Cockiness and arrogance then she sold less than 1,000 copies?

It’s not how you start. It’s how you finish. Lizzo album was out 2 years ago sold about the same. Her sleeper hit eventually went up the charts and then became #1 for 10 plus weeks and then her deluxe version of the album was released and went platinum. Never count the girrrrrrrrrrrrls out hunty!

Oh please, Lizzo was a gimmick. So unless this girl can turn being a random thick light skin chick into a gimmick, you can’t compare.

RCA gave this girl no budget you idiot. Her photoshoot was done at an ihop and her singles weren’t sent to radio. Her only promo was the damn WAP video.

    • Davide September 4, 2020

DO you talk out of your rear end? Motivation went platinum. the girl aint bad she just needs to find her lane and be consistent

  5. Pat September 4, 2020

    Should’ve been a mixtape

  6. #WAP September 4, 2020

This is respectable. She had little promo and no radio singles. Her second album will be huge especially since her features are starting to pop off! Why no post on her new song “down” with G-Eazy?? It’s a bop!
