Watch: Miley Cyrus Rocks ‘Tonight Show’ with ‘Midnight Sky’ & More

Published: Friday 11th Sep 2020 by Rashad

‘Midnight Sky’ – the first single from Miley Cyrus forthcoming seventh studio album ‘She Is Miley Cyrus’ – seemed poised for top 10 glory on the Hot 100 after its impressive top 20 debut (as we reported here).

Slipping out of the top 40 the following week, the song enjoyed a small boost in week 3 thanks to exposure received from her rocking performance of it at the 2020 MTV VMAs (click here to see it).

Now, with hopes of pushing it to a new peak on the hit list, Cyrus took to ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ Thursday (September 10) to crank out another live rendition of the cut.

Curious to see how she fared? Look inside:

Delivering a double do, Cyrus even rendered a rocky rendition of Hall & Oates‘ 1982 classic ‘Maneater.’

See it below:

Say what you will about Ms. Cyrus, she did that!  And, there’s no doubting the power coming from those vocal cords.

Stevie Nicks and Pat Benatar would be proud.

This song has been growing on me. Very groovy.
    Mother’s daughter is a bop

Miley has outlasted katy Perry, kesha, megan trainor, nicki minaj, jessie j, etc

She’s finally found her groove. I did enjoy her Bangerz sound and it was one hell of a show, BUT this disco rock thing she’s doing is perfect. She’s really the only voice currently that can do it justice. I’d expected a more rock sound but this is so much better.

Inching closer to pop excellence since Mother’s Daughter. Even if this song requires her to stay in a lighter placement not to run outta breath. Steady evolution. That’s how you do grown bad girl gone good gone bad again. 👏
