Billboard Hot 100: Travis Scott Makes History By Debuting At #1 With ‘Franchise’

Published: Monday 5th Oct 2020 by Sam

Travis Scott has done it.

The rapper has premiered atop of the Billboard Hot 100 with new single ‘Franchise.’

And he’s made history in the process.

Full story below…

Fending off fierce competition from BTS’ ‘Dynamite,’ the track – which features Young Thug and M.I.A – launches in pole position on the coveted count.

It serves as Scott’s fourth total Hot 100 #1.

Notably, its the MC’s third to debut at the top in less than a year — a new record for the fastest accumulation of three #1 debuts by any act in the history of the Hot 100.

‘The Scotts’ and ‘Highest in the Room’ are the star’s preceding 2020 #1s.

‘Franchise’ becomes Young Thug second Hot 100 #1 and M.I.A’s first.

Check out the video, which was shot at Michael Jordan’s iconic Chicago area home below.

Did Kris buy this #1? Or were single sales being bundled with the McDonalds Travis Scott meal?

        Literally. The weirdest :/

I love travis but some of his singles generally have a short shelf life so it’s not impressive. Songs that fall out the top 10 after a week isn’t history making. When do the new billboard bundle rules come into play. To many fraudulent number 1s this year it’s embarrassing.

Surprised M.I.A didn’t get a number one with Paper Planes a few years ago, everyone was listening to that song and using it on their MySpace lol..she definitely would’ve these days the way streaming is set up

  5. Rashad October 5, 2020

Fake number 1. It’ll fall out of the top 19 by next week. Streaming counts way too much

  6. POPS+Muva October 5, 2020

how??? this wasn’t even in competition to be at number 1… something smells fishy about this. never heard this song or even anyone talking about it.

What y’all don’t understand about Travis is he has a cult following. Literally. They flock to purchase so his singles are always front loaded. It’s not like other number 1 singles that grow over time or stat consistent

  8. PinotNoir October 5, 2020

Who Kylie fuh for his #1’s? 🤔

  9. Bebo October 5, 2020

I don’t understand how this song went to #1 with only 18 millions on YouTube till today
And on Apple Music is #26 And Spotify #35

Exactly when other organic songs failed to hit number 1 very suspect. This seems like a bought and paid for number 1 only 18 million streams on YouTube very bad. Shows that Billboard manipulates the charts and places whomever they want at number one (well some songs). This doesn’t seem like a true number 1.
