Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins boasts many hits to his name, having been at the helm of classics by the likes of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.
However, in a career retrospective interview, he’s named Destiny’s Child‘s ‘Say My Name’ as the “favorite” of all his iconic creations.

Speaking with VLAD TV, Darkchild opened up about the creation of the blockbuster smash – which topped the Billboard Hot 100, earned two GRAMMYs, and is currently certified 3x Platinum by the RIAA.
Interestingly, he revealed that next-to-no-one involved was too thrilled with the first iteration of the track. Himself included.
It wasn’t until it was being mixed that drastic last minute changes were made that the song the world knows and love came to fruition.

Granted Darkchild’s smashes are so plentiful that he could essentially battle himself in a #Verzuz, we most definitely agree that ‘Say My Name’ is up there with the cream of the crop.
