Dua Lipa‘s ‘Levitating’ hasn’t exactly lived up to its namesake on the Hot 100, but its chart trajectory may be set to change.
Though not officially released until August, the tune first gained critical acclaim upon the March premiere of its parent project, ‘Future Nostalgia.’ In the time since, ‘Levitating’ has enjoyed a Madonna, Missy Elliott, and Blessed Madonna remix (found board the deluxe edition of ‘Future Nostalgia’) as well as a revamp from DaBaby.
While the solo and diva-dominated renditions did surprisingly little to push the song up the Hot 100 (as we reported here), the DaBaby assist reinforces the adage ‘third time’s the charm.’

‘Levitating’ – powered primarily by streams, sales, and radio airplay of its DaBaby-enlisted version – made its long-awaited Hot 100 debut this week at #73, giving Dua her fourth concurrent placement on the tally.
Elsewhere on the refreshed chart, the GRAMMY-winner can be found at #85 (J. Balvin‘s ‘Un Dia’), #39 (‘Don’t Start Now’), and #29 (‘Break My Heart’).
Speaking of the latter, the enduring top 40 hit was recently upgraded to Platinum status by the Recording Industry Association of America (denoting U.S. sales equivalence of 1 million units). It’s the third of this Dua’s singles this era to be certified by the organization as ‘Don’t Start Now’ sits at 3x Platinum and ‘Physical’ is Gold. [source]
