TLC To Get The A&E ‘Biography’ Treatment

Published: Saturday 31st Oct 2020 by Ryan

TLC is coming to the small screen.

The R&B group is getting a two-hour ‘Biography’ special that will air on the A&E network in 2021.

Full story below:

The network is set to tell the story of the group’s rise to fame from T-Boz and Chilli‘s own words.

Oscar-and Emmy-winning director Roger Ross Williams and Emmy-winning producer Geoff Martz will executive produce the project.

Williams said in a press statement:

“As someone who has long been in awe of TLC and their musical and cultural impact, I am thrilled to be a part of bringing the story of their music, their journey, and their continuing reverence to the screen. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with A&E, as well as filmmaker Matthew Kay, to bring this film to life. We hope this film illuminates a side of this incredible group and Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins, Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas that longtime fans and viewers alike have not seen before.”

Elaine Frontain Bryant, head of programming at A&E Network, said in another statement:

“‘The Biography’ banner has always focused on telling the stories of remarkable people who have had a major impact on our collective culture. As a revolutionary group that broke boundaries and influenced an entire generation, TLC falls directly into that category and we are honored to tell their incredible story as it has never been told before.”

We certainly cannot wait for this to hit the small-screen. Can you? What are…

Were they not happy with the VH1 version that happened the last decade? Or is it just another opportunity to make money? Not knocking the hustle; just genuinely curious.

Destiny’s Child fans in here not keeping the same energy for the million Marylin Monroe, Madonna, Elvis Presley biopics. Let TLC make their coins in peace. Different networks bring different styles.

This gets a pass cause we all know that they have limited earning potential. But the writings on the wall, it’s time to find a new hustle.

No Scrubs has just been certified 5x platinum making it the highest certified single by a girl group and Fanmail is about to be certified diamond.

The song writer and producers will benefit the most from this. The royalty split between the performers may be crumbs, depending on what their contracts look like. Pebbles will probably get more than TBoz & Chili combined.

I love TLC and absolutely can’t wait and everybody with the negative and hating ass comments go to HELL do t say some hating $#%+ then follow it up with “ o but I’m not knocking their hustle” it’s not a damn hustle real fans know that the movie we saw on VH1 was not a long enough production to cover everything real fans know that “CrazySexyCool the TLC Story left out a lot because it was only about 2 hours long it’s impossible to cover their story in 2 hours if you don’t wanna see take your ass in the corner and hide.

    I CANT WAIT
