Sam Smith fans worried about the singer’s succession of misses on the Hot 100 are finding relief with the modest, yet steady upward chart moves of ‘Diamonds.’
Serving as the second single from Smith’s serially delayed third album, the October 30-released ‘Love Goes’ (click here to stream), the song’s been on the receiving end of an aggressive promo schedule that’s seen it performed everywhere from ‘The Late Late Show’ to ‘The Late Show,’ ‘Good Morning America,’ the 2020 MTV EMAs, and more.
Over two months after the premiere of its Luke Monaghan-directed music video, it appears the awareness campaign is working in the GRAMMY winner’s favor.

8 weeks after its September 17 debut, ‘Diamonds’ shines in the top 40 of the Hot 100.
Marking the 10th visit to the chart region of the singer’s career overall, it becomes their fourth hit of such caliber from this era alone as it follows the success of ‘Love Goes’ singles ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ (#7 peak), ‘How Do You Sleep?’ (#24), and ‘I’m Ready’ (#36 peak).
