RIAA: Kash Doll Earns First Career Plaque As ‘Ice Me Out’ Certified Gold

Published: Tuesday 10th Nov 2020 by Rashad

2020’s handed out its fair share of wins to female rappers and, if Kash Doll‘s latest victory is any indication, the year’s far from finished doing so.

The Detroit-born femcee may be hard-at-work on her sophomore album, the follow-up to 2019’s critically acclaimed ‘Stacked,’ but thanks to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) she can now stack another career first on her growing pile of achievements.

Details inside:

On Tuesday (November 10), the RIAA updated its logs to reveal Kash Doll’s anthemic ‘Ice Me Out’ is in the Gold club – meaning it’s sold over 500,000 copies in the United States alone.  It is her first effort to be certified by the organization.

Having amassed over 24 million views on YouTube alone, the song – which celebrated its two-year anniversary on November 7 – not only ranks as her second most-viewed clip on that platform but has also experienced a resurgence in popularity thanks to the Triller app, a feat underscored by it topping Billboard’s ‘Top Triller Songs’ charts in summer 2020 (click here to read more).

Kash adds her name to a lengthy list of female rappers who have earned one or more RIAA certifications this year including Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Mulatto, Doja Cat, and Saweetie.

Damn. That’s embarassing. That song came out August 24, 2018 and just now got certified gold. Congrats I guess. I dont see it for her though. She gives me mad auntie at the cookout yelling over a hot dog kinda vibe.

Good but that’s sad. She could go places with the right team. That was a solid and versatile album, I don’t see her hustle. 6,000 first week sales + streaming? Gurl, get a a new team.

Also everyone was spinning Kash Doll’s Crazy and KD Diary, why weren’t those the singles. Ebro told her to drop Crazy. Ice Me Out was some sort of bootleg Saweetie trash. Such a good album wasted.
