Taylor Swift might not have the rights to her masters, so she is going back into the studio recreate them all from scratch.
On Sunday, (November 22) the Pop singer won big at the American Music Awards (as we reported here). While not attending the show, she did have a good excuse: she was busy re-recording her old material.
Her words below:
During a pre-recorded video aired at the ceremony, the ‘Cardigan’ singer said:
“You guys have been beyond wonderful all the years of my career, but especially this one when we’ve been so far apart. The reason I’m not there tonight is I’m re-recording all of my old music in the studio we originally recorded it.
News broke late last week that Scooter Braun‘s Ithaca Holdings potential doubled its investment into Swift’s masters after they sold them for $300 million (as we reported here).
While Swift has revealed that she intended to re-record her old albums in the past, Sunday night’s reveal marked the first time she publicly announced she had begun the recording process on them.
We’re interested to hear her old material reimagined. Are you?
