Watch: Chloe x Halle Shine With ‘Ungodly Hour’ At The 2020 People’s Choice Awards

Published: Monday 16th Nov 2020 by Ryan

Chloe x Halle let their voices shine at the 2020 People’s Choice Awards with their performance of ‘Ungodly Hour.’

The sisters took the stage in matching skin-tight metallic black outfits and futuristic hair do’s. The pair recruited four backup dancers, who channeled ‘The Matrix’ with their trench coats and sunglasses.

The harmonized over the lyrics:

When you decide you like yourself (holla at me) / When you decide you need someone (call up on me) / When you don’t have to think about it / Love me at the ungodly hour.

Watch the Grammy-nominated artists stun below…

This performance was everything we could ask for and more. These ladies are unstoppable. Simply put, they delivered a stunning showing.

With that, what are…

Your thoughts?

The jealousy, envy, and hate is real in this thread. Let these black gals slay~

They need to switch it up a bit.
Their performance style is good but it’s becoming repetitive and predictable

They are performing everywhere but it’s not translating to commercial success

They need more radio friendly songs.
    Less harmonizing
They should collaborate with one of those DJs like zedd or kylo or marshmallow or mark Ronson

I agree. Your comment is very insightful. Especially the piece on them collaborating with one of those big name DJs. That’s where the harmonizing would shine but still leave room for something new. I’m still not yet tired of their performances yet but your comment is definitely on point.

No one cares about them but Near middle aged Beyonce stans. Sorry to say it I’m looking forward to their solo effort tho

    These girls SLAY!!!

They are the most talented out of this new crop of R&B girls. Unfortunately, they come across as too perfect and polished which isn’t what this new generation looks for in “talent”. I’m NOT saying they need to dumb down their artistry, but the Beyoncé route isn’t working for them.

    These girls SLAY!!!

Seriously they’re one of the most talented acts I’ve seen in years. Out of the current crop of boring “R&B” girls, they lead the pack.

With that being said, UNFORTUNATELY they come across as too perfect and polished. Their style isn’t what this new generation seeks in “talent”. They want someone relatable. I’m not suggesting them to dumb down their artistry, just stating facts. “Do It” is the most radio friendly song I’ve heard of theirs but honestly the lyrics are very goodie two shoes for this generation.

Had they debuted 10-15 years ago, they would be HUGE.

It sucks that they’re putting in SO much work and not getting the DESERVED results.

@Swirly: Absolutely!!!! I will, however, continue to enjoy their commitment to polishing and honing their craft. Perhaps it will mean they will outlast some of their contemporaries…

They’re good but too much like Beyonce.

  8. Nicky November 16, 2020

You either have IT or you don’t. They don’t. Cute girls

It’s sad that they are being wrote off for being to advanced and to talented and for having their s*** together but this is what people have been begging for since the early 2010’s. 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️.

I do enjoy the fact that they only cater to their fan base and don’t worry about cheapening their brand to appeal to an audience that have no desire for artistry any more because of the wave of low budget, autotune radio noise.

    • Phatpuscee November 16, 2020

What fan base? They’re flops sis.

      • TORi November 16, 2020

To you, they actually have a following. They were able to tour and expand their brand and release another album and have been killing every artist performance and vocal wise all year. Just because they were overshadowed by the constant ever changing requirements of what’s popular or the fact that you don’t personally “see it for them” doesn’t mean that they don’t have a fan base that has grown since their last album.

    • Keith November 16, 2020

@Tori: LOVE these comments: “I do enjoy the fact that they only cater to their fan base and don’t worry about cheapening their brand to appeal to an audience that have no desire for artistry any more because of the wave of low budget, autotune radio noise.”

  10. Idk 🤷🏾‍♂️ November 16, 2020

    I don’t know why they haven’t made this a single yet – I don’t understand

  11. HELLOKITTY November 16, 2020

They seem to do a lot on stage and they have fantastic voices but they are also, somehow, forgettable. It’s a shame because they are truly talented. I think these girls have it a plateau and that sounds really premature to say but I don’t see them being superstars but just really good artists.

  12. Patti LaHelle November 16, 2020

Their music is noisy and not easy to listen to. That’s their problem! And Beyonce has them acting like pageant queens. They’re young af. Let there hair down a little.
