Garnering over 1.7 million likes on Instagram in just half a day, the overwhelming response to the snaps come after years of calls for the GRAMMY nominee to reintroduce her signature black locks after she ditched the look in 2017 during the promotional run of her fourth studio album, ‘Witness.’

I totally disagree on your assessment of Xtinas impact.
Let’s face it, Katy had a good three album run at the top from 2008 to 2014. Her success was mostly selling 99 cents downloads on iTunes before streaming replaced that.
Yes, she sold a massive amount of McDouble’s but it doesnt make her success more ‘impactful’ just because it happened more recently.
Also, Katy’s fame was benefited by the rise of social media where follower counts and fanbase driven activity increased her visibility alongside the other pop girls of the late 00s/early 10s. Back in Xtina’s peak fan armies existed but not in the same visibility they do now on social media.
Xtinas also had a good 3 album run at the top from 1999 to 2006.
I dont see how anyone would even think selling 10 million 99 cents downloads is comparable to selling over 10 million albums worldwide TWICE.
On top of all that, Xtina in her prime has classic stage performances utilizing her God given vocal talent.
Katy Perry used her God given white privilege and D cup sized breats to achieve notoriety.
