Teyana Taylor has had enough of the industry.
So much so, the singer has decided to retire from the music game completely.

Taking to her Instagram to share her Spotify Wrapped stats, the ‘WTP‘ singer thanked her fans for streams of over 160 million in more than 90 countries this year alone.
However, she shocked her supporters when she revealed that she feels “under appreciated as an artist” and will be retiring from music imminently.

News of the star’s retirement comes as her latest project ‘The Album‘ wasn’t anywhere to be found on 2021’s GRAMMY nominations list; an omission that irked Taylor and her fans.
It’s understandable why the musician feels this way. ‘The Album’ was undoubtedly one of the strongest R&B albums of 2020.
In any case, we remain hopeful that she will use this to push herself even further creatively. Not for the accolades or awards, but for herself and her supporters. For her talent is undeniable and we’d hate to see it go to waste.

No one ever took Teyana serious. She was always just that spoiled brat from the Super 16 series who got everything she cried for. She never put out anything of substance to change that or to earn our respect. R&B is HARD to succeed in, you have to stand out; she doesn’t. I’ve always thought her music was a bit dated, as evidenced by her pulling in such an old school artist like Elton John.
