R&B iTunes: Jazmine Sullivan’s ‘Heaux Tales’ Takes #1 Spot

Published: Saturday 9th Jan 2021 by Rashad

After a six-year wait, Jazmine Sullivan fans apparently couldn’t go another second without a new project from the GRAMMY-nominated songstress as evidenced by the overwhelming response to her new EP, ‘Heaux Tales’ (click here to stream).

More inside:

Released January 8, ‘Heaux Tales’ comes as the first full body of work from Sullivan since her ‘Reality Show’ album peaked at #2 on Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in January 2015.  If the acclaim accompanying the arrival of ‘Tales’ is any indication, the 14-track EP is set for similar success on the same tally.

As of time reported, the critically-praised project – which also boasts guest appearances from the likes of Ari Lennox, H.E.R., Anderson. Paak, and more – sits at #1 on real-time R&B sales charts.  Among all genres, it currently occupies the #3 spot.

The out-of-the-box response to ‘Tales’ – when coupled with first-week streams – could spell well for Jazmine on the Billboard 200 at the end of the EP’s inaugural sales tracking week.

the EP isn’t that bad, too much talking for my taste, but the songs are good. Though I have to admit I was more a fan of her previous albums. But honestly, R&B Itunes is an indicator for nothing…

    Purchased!

Her writing and what she does vocally is unmatched! I’ll continue to support.

This is probably the first Jazmine Sullivan, project I won’t be purchasing. The vocals are great as usual but the content is beneath her. I didn’t wait 6 years just to get a Cardi B/Megan Thee Stallion bastardized version of Jazmine Sullivan. I hope this was really an EP, because if the album sounds anything like the EP 😅

I see it as a concept album and I don’t think it’s beneath her, you can’t put jazmine in a box. she can sing anything. She’s telling stories on this one.

I like the EP. Of course you have to delete the interludes but when you get past that the content is good. Smart time to release music aswell.
