Lil Nas X hasn’t even released new music in 2021, but the year’s already started on a great foot for the hitmaking crooner.
As if recently nabbing headlines for news his 14x Platinum debut hit, ‘Old Town Road,’ became the most certified song in the Recording Industry Association of America’s history (click here to read more about that), the GRAMMY winner preceded that announcement by making room on his wall for yet another plaque from the organization.

Earlier this month, the RIAA updated its logs to reveal ‘Holiday’ – the official first single from X’s forthcoming debut album – had crossed its threshold for Gold certification. This means it’s sold at least 500,000 copies in the United States alone.
The Tay Keith-produced bop, X’s fourth Hot 100 top 40 hit, was released just two months ago and continues an impressive streak for the singing rapper as every one of his official singles to date has been certified Gold or higher.
