Dua Lipa Named One Of TIME’s Next 100 Most Influential People / Stuns On Cover

Published: Wednesday 17th Feb 2021 by Sam

From delivering inescapable bops to birthing boldly brilliant music videos, Dua Lipa‘s dominance in Pop is difficult to deny.

Fittingly then, TIME Magazine has honored her as such.

For, the publication has not only named the singer on their The Next 100 Most Influential People tally, but she’s also been bestowed a cover feature.

Lipa cuts a striking figure in a potent shade of pink on the front of the mag and sits down for an accompanying digital interview too.

More after the jump…

Legend Kylie Minogue, who Lipa collaborated with on the remix to funky single ‘Real Groove,’ penned her profile feature and deemed her a “shining star” and “bona fide pop behemoth.”

We agree!

    😴😴😴

Her album future nostalgia is gold. Debuted at number 4 💀
Levitating, a top 5 hit that has been on the charts for more than 25 weeks, is gold

    You cant fool us.
Dua lipa = good marketing and aggressive payola

      Where’s Camila on Time???

      • Clarks0o0ñ February 17, 2021

Camila has been on the cover of time magazine and unlike dua, she has the chart stats to back up her fame.

        2 number 1 songs
        A diamond certified single
        A number 1 album

    • Incognito February 17, 2021

Still don’t understand why it bothers you so much that Dua is getting attention 🤷🏻‍♂️ especially if your favorite is having bigger certifications. Are you afraid that she could become more popular than Camilla?

  2. Jake February 17, 2021

Congrats to Dua for being on time magazine cover. She has the Grammys Platinum Albums and Singles without 10 different covers and 10 different singles LMAO. Some artist have a Number 1 song but NO GRAMMYS now that’s SAD lmao!!! Make that make sense. Dua is fairly new to the industry and she is doing great for wheeler shes at now. The HATERS will deal. We love to see these WINS HA!!!

      *where

    • Incognito February 17, 2021

As of December 2020, the album has sold 931,000 album-equivalent units in the United States.

      • Jake February 17, 2021

Exactly also the Hater at the Top who is always the first to comment never have the correct facts. Levitating has been on the Charts for 19 weeks NOT 25 weeks.

It was for the comment under yours sorry

Now I do love Dua Lipa and I wish her the best tbh. I’m going to agree with Clarkson tho Dua has been massively displayed across platforms , radio, tv and all types of promotions including radios, playlists and a bunch of other things. It makes me question why is her album only GOLD? why does Dua only have like 3 top 10 hits and her sales just don’t reflect the smoke and mirrors the industry is making it seem to be.

“Album-equivalent”. I love when pr and marketing people use that phrase. It’s actually hilarious. It’s a smoke & mirror spin, that makes you believe people pay money for her music. They don’t. You will never, ever in your life hear someone say “Adele sold __ million equivalent albums”. They will say Adele sold 10 million albums. I’d be curious to know how much money she she owes her label to recoup. Gwen, Madonna, Kylie, Missy. Them h*** don’t work for free.

      • Jake February 17, 2021

These numbers are correct, which is exactly what Billboard states for every Artist some people just can’t READ. This is how Album sales are reported. Album sales comprises of many different factors. Billboard always states equivalent albums because it includes streams, albums sales such as direct purchase, on demand streams etc. Incognito you said it correctly. Some people commenting don’t know what they’re talking about. They really need to shut there mouths, get there facts correct and get with the times.

      • Incognito February 18, 2021

Thank you Jake, you said exactly what I was about to answer 👍 you’re damn right bro

Dua dua🤳🏿🤳🏿🤳🏿 Go gurl! Mo power 2U💅🏿💅🏿

  5. UHoesFunny February 17, 2021

Camila wishes she could book a cover shoot 💀 nobody wants to work with her. Her movie is already in the works of going straight to Free Form and On Demand video

On top of that none of her latest singles are sticking. All fell HARD off the charts in a matter of days :/

    Sophomore album complete forgotten.
Living in Dua’s shadow and dreading Normani’s return.

She’ll probably have a scandal soon saying she found out her boyfriend is gay to gain clout for a new single. I’m dead. Good luck boo

      Levitating- a top.5 hit .
      Certified gold.

My oh my- peaked at number 12.
      Certified 2x platinum

Liar- didnt crack the top 50
      Certified platinum.
      🤣🤣🤣

Dua lipa is all smoke and mirrors.
She has millions of streams thanks to playlisting
Her songs chart high thanks to payola.

Number 1 Songs mean nothing. It seems anyone goes to Number 1 these days on the charts. Not sure what so great about a Number 1 song. Sure it’s somewhat of a great accomplishment. There are Artist who have number 1 songs with no longevity. It’s about longevity not just a Number 1 song. Two Hit Wonder is not that great either LMAO!! Did I mention, I love this Time Magazine Cover gorgeous Dua.🔥🔥🔥 She has definitely improved as an Artist.

What’s your Point? My Oh My remix was released January 6th as a single DUH I’m sure it would be platinum by now. Levitating will be platinum and you shall see the Song has been on the charts for only 19 weeks RIAA takes time to update there certifications. Break My Heart Peaked at Number 13 and went Platinum. Havana isn’t Diamond it’s 9 times platinum stop with all the lies! In the United States, Dua’s song “Scared to Be Lonely” debuted at number 88 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart issue dated 18 February 2017. It spent 14 non-consecutive weeks on the chart, and eventually peaked at number 76. In December 2020, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded the song a double platinum certification for selling 2,000,000 track-equivalent units in the US. So a song could go Top 20 and still go double platinum. Talk to Billboard NOT Me. Why are you so bothered by Levitating being a Top 5 hit? I hope your able to sleep at night when the song goes Platinum LMAO

      • Incognito February 18, 2021

Dear Jake, I’ve been waiting for you for too long! I really appreciate what I read, thank you for your comment, it gives me hope.

  7. Jake February 18, 2021

Dua looks Gorgeous love the cover 🔥🔥🔥 Damn the haters truly invade this Blog Lol. Hopefully that two hit wonder chick will get a Grammy one day. Congrats Dua on Winning Two Grammys in 2019. 2021 Grammys will be held on March 14th 2021 lmao they say to expect the unexpected LOL!

    • Incognito February 18, 2021

You have no idea, I’ve been trying to stop that hate train so many times, acting the same way, acting cool, nothing works, some people live for the trouble. It’s so sad… 2021 and humans are still not able to respect themselves.
