Demi Lovato has been speaking up and out about her battle with drug addiction during the promotional push for her new album ‘Dancing with the Devil…The Art of Starting Over.’
With DMX making headlines after an overdose left his life hanging in balance, the singer was quizzed on the matter during a recent interview with TMZ.
Her words below…
Addressing the rapper’s harrowing predicament, Lovato said:
“Of course (it resonates). Anytime I see somebody OD or even pass away that’s in the public eye, I immediately think ‘that could have been you had you not been putting all this work in these last couple of years of your life.’ There are times where I’ve even talked about feeling survivor’s guilt because you do ask yourself ‘why am I still here and others are not?’ And it’s a challenging thing to get over, but ultimately, I had to realize that every day is a day that somebody else doesn’t get. Every day on this earth is a day I need to be counting my blessings.”
