RIAA: Ariana Grande’s ‘Positions’ & ’34+35′ Now at 2x Platinum

Numbers don’t lie;  ’34+35′ is now a 2x Platinum hit!

The second official single from Ariana Grande‘s sixth studio album, ‘Positions’ (2020), the Peter Lee Johnson-produced tune most notably made headlines for a historic rise to the #2 position on the Billboard Hot 100 (thanks to a sizzling remix with Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat).

Now, it finds itself in another familiar position courtesy of advancements reported by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Details below:

Earlier this month, the RIAA announced the certification status of ’34+35′ had been upgraded to 2x Platinum – meaning it’s sold the equivalence of 2 million units in the United States alone.  The refreshed total comes less than 3 months after the song’s Platinum award.

What’s more, its predecessor – the ‘Positions’ title track – was upgraded to 2x Platinum status on the same day.  The tunes’ parent album now sits at Platinum, marking her sixth consecutive studio effort to claim such honor.

The collective sales updates bring her cumulative career total to 56.5 million in the United States – a sum that puts her in 5th place in the RIAA’s history books among digital sellers.  As of time reported, only Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga have sold more.
