The 11-track project includes her previously released breakout debut hit ‘Drivers License,’ top 10 hit ‘Deja Vu,’ and latest smash ‘good 4 u.’
Fans of Taylor Swift received a sweet surprise on the album, as Rodrigo interpolates Swift’s ‘Repuration’ album cut ‘New Year’s Day’ on her song ‘1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back.’
All songs were written by Rodrigo, Dan Nigro, and Casey Smith.

It’s ok. A lot of people are complaining about how unoriginal and basic she is and I get it. Her music is derivative. Every song sounds like you’ve heard it before. Whether it be 3 years ago or 15 years ago. It’s familiar. On one hand, she’s 18, this is her debut album and I don’t feel the need to judge her harshly. On the other hand, Lorde, Billie, and Taylor (her obvious influences) made much better music when they were 16 years old. Her advantage is that her music is more appealing to pop lovers than Billie and her lyrics are a little more dramatic (which is relatable to other teenagers) than Taylor’s. I don’t think there’s anything specifically special about her voice or her music, but she’s well positioned to succeed. Anyways, where is Lorde??? 🙄💅🏾

That’s the way they intend on marketing her. I only listened to the snippets because of Drivers License. However, nothing compelled me to buy her album or stream it. It’s too dry.
