With just hours to go before the Billboard Music Awards 2021 kick-off, organizers for the ceremony have lifted the lid on the winners list for the untelevised categories.

The Weeknd leads with a whopping seven wins, while the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, Lady Gaga, BTS, and the late Pop Smoke also won big.

Given the nature of how wins are tabulated (see: using chart data), the list also sees embattled Country music star Morgan Wallen take home awards. As a result, a formal statement accompanied the early tally of winners.

“Morgan Wallen is a finalist this year based on charting. As his recent conduct does not align with our core values, we will not be including him on the show in any capacity (performing, presenting, accepting).

It is heartening and encouraging to hear that Morgan is taking steps in his anti-racist journey and starting to do some meaningful work. We plan to evaluate his progress and will consider his participation in future shows.”
